We’re again reduced to cheering against the Bison in order to salvage our own season. And yet, the loudest voices will scream that NDSU is a failure for losing the semifinal or national title game and proclaim UND as the true “state champion.” Regardless of what happens next in the playoffs, it’s now impossible to argue that UND will have had a more successful season than NDSU.

I think many of us saw this coming several years ago having seen Barry Melrose in the booth with his hand shaking. I loved Barry as a commentator and enjoyed his enthusiasm for college hockey. Parkinson’s Disease is awful and I for one will be praying for him.

OK, I’ll play along.
Had North Dakota come up with a decent logo, fans would have been more likely to eventually embrace new gear. That obviously did not happen. Instead, 7 years later, we have grown adults buying $300-$350 authentic jerseys, promptly ripping off shoulder patches, and replacing them with Indian head logos or interlocking ND’s. It also doesn’t help when the coaching staff comes up with its own brand identity to further keep the official nickname on the back shelf.
The biggest beneficiary of the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo more than a decade after its retirement would still seem to be the Chinese Communist Party. I bet there are easily 2,500-3,000+ $40-$50 China fakes in the stands at every home game. They’re literally everywhere.

Not jersey related but we really don’t have a “swap meet” or “for sale” section other than for tickets. I need about 50 orders for another batch of keychains (see photo). $5 each + postage if I can get enough pre-orders!
