  1. I actually saw Findlay play at REA in the early 2000's before they dropped hockey.
  2. And until 2004, the last sighting of a wolverine in Michigan was in the early 1800's...before Michigan was even a STATE! It's the University of North Dakota...not the University of Grand Forks. http://www.foundmich...last-wolverine/ EDIT: Someone already beat me to the UND-not-UGF line...
  3. I was kind-of pulling for the Rangers but by the time game 7 rolled around, I wanted Vancouver to win.
  4. Maybe you guys are right...they couldn't POSSIBLY ban the wearing of Sioux hockey jerseys on campus or in REA. Next thing you know, you'll be telling me that kids in the US can't wear clothing with the American flag on it in AMERICAN schools...we all know that that's simply not going to happen ever, right? http://www.nationalr...-andrew-johnson
  5. An NFL player just essentially got tossed from his team for a two-word tweet regarding the NFL draft. "Inappropriate"? "Racist?" Who determines that? Who do you think, Oxbow6? The academic "elite" who are here to enlighten all of us. If that doesn't work, I'm sure somewhere down the road, re-education camps will help do the job. http://www.infowars.com/sean-penn-obama-should-issue-executive-order-committing-ted-cruz-to-mental-institution/ These types of people really do exist...and they're essentially half of the US population...
  6. I agree with you on Vancouver...that was a great organization in the early to mid 1990's...it's gone to hell in a handbasket since then.
  7. http://www.thecrimso...s-at-dartmouth/ It wouldn't be unprecedented, jdub27...The daughter of a friend of mine attends Dartmouth...you wouldn't DARE wear an old-logo sweater or t-shirt on campus there...
  8. http://stanfordreview.org/article/stanford-indian-controversy-returns/ http://www.bluecorncomics.com/stype619.htm http://nativeappropriations.com/category/stanford-indian Yes, I do. Those who wear such "offensive" shirts, sweatshirts, and jerseys will be hounded by people who want this image essentially banned from being seen anywhere on campus. If OKCupid.com can bring about the demise of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich over a $1,000 donation to a group opposed to gay marriage in California, I believe ANYTHING is possible.
  9. And how did they use the geometric logo recently by making "historical gear"? Oh yea, that's right...by selling about a dozen grey t-shirts at REA with the old-school logo on them for about forty bucks apiece. Nobody says they have to order 15,000 shirts...
  10. Do I actually think people would call for students to be expelled from the University of North Dakota for wearing a t-shirt? Yes, I do. Yes, I actually think REA could be strong-armed pursuaded into enacting a policy prohibiting the wearing of clothing deemed inappropriate or "potentially racist" and therefore not allowed inside the arena.
  11. Walk into REA barefoot sometime Goon and I bet you'll be escorted out of the arena in about 8 seconds flat. If building policy is that certain articles of clothing MUST be worn or you can be denied entry, certainly certain articles of clothing actually being worn could be grounds for removal from the same building.
  12. I agree with you on this one, GFG. What exactly does the University of North Dakota need to apologize for?
  13. I've seen plenty of adults in offensive shirts as well. Why, just today, I walked by a guy wearing a Minnesota Gopher shirt. Just disgusting...
  14. But...but...but...Pittsburgh's just as bad!
  15. Not quite as amusing as the Blackhawk (can't recall who scored the GWG) who immediately threw his gloves in the air and looked to celebrate an OT-type goal...apparently forgetting that there were still a few seconds left on the clock. FAIL!
  16. You're right...I guess not every team can play late into the summer only to blow game 6 of the finals by giving up two goals in the last couple of minutes of the game just so they can avoid a flight to Chicago for game 7...
  17. Didn't wear them around and flaunt them? One of the tweets said something to the effect of 'our shirts will get us in trouble i know it.' The other person was more than happy to take a selfie and post his photo on the internet. Now they want to plead ignorance? I'm calling BS on the design too. Custom Ink may have done the artwork but it had to be approved by someone. You don't just pay for custom-made shirts without having some input into what you want the final product to look like.
  18. Boy, you think Dick Umile would catch a break someday...good pick, Blackheart!
  19. Enough of the "Penguins are clowns" vs the "Bruins are bozos" discussion already...it gets old after a while. DaveK sucks...no he doesn't, Goon's a moron...groan. Given the antics of Lucic and his cup-check in the Detroit series (something Goon chuckles at) and Crosby and his slew-foots of Rangers (something DaveK thinks isn't an issue), I'd be fine with both teams playing golf ASAP. Back to the video...c'mon...that's funny.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrkgIYbfbrQ Lost track of the Philadelphia "fans" posts in here...thought this was appropriate for the NFL thread as well...

  22. Given how widely ESPN covered Sam at the NFL draft, I can't imagine the media circus that will surround the opening of Rams' training camp. It'll make the Olympics and the Super Bowl look like a Prairie Public Television broadcast.
  23. The US really is always "damned if they do and damned if they don't" nowadays. If we do nothing, we're railed on by other countries. If we intercede, it's "Yankee go home" and "death to America." But, hey, maybe this Administration's new "Hashtag Diplomacy" will make this group release these 200 girls, right?
  24. Anyone remember Sam Mcguffie, the running back from Texas who was highly recruited and spent some time at Michigan? Yea, ESPN did a little bit on him during his freshman season at Michigan. He was constantly taunted as being the "white kid" and dealt with plenty of abuse from opponents about what in the world he was doing at running back for the Wolverines. Is the reason he isn't in the NFL today because he is white?
  25. I've seen plenty of GREAT college players who didn't amount to anything in the NFL. There's no shame in being a great college player while not doing much in the NFL. I'd take Vince Young's Texas career any day over mine...
