UND has kind of created this problem itself by placing so much emphasis on these “destination” games. At the end of the day, at almost $4 a gallon for gas and plane tickets thru the roof, not to mention food and beverage costs and expensive hotel stays, there is only so much disposable income to go around per fan. I expect a lot of Twin Cities folks at this weekend’s games, but I won’t be one of them. My “destination weekend” was last weekend in Grand Forks.

I’m old enough to remember when Bruce Ciskie wasn’t a whiner. Strike that…I’m actually not that old.

Having personally attended Saturday’s game, the lone highlight I saw on the night was the 80+ year old couple on the “kiss cam.”

Spoke with a QU player in the lobby at CanadInn about an hour ago - he said the atmosphere at REA was amazing and that the team had a blast in Grand Forks. Nice kid. Then Rand told me to get lost (OK, he really didn’t).

I leave myself speechless sometimes too.

Looks like part picnic, part day at the beach, part in-home theatre room, part 1930’s speak-easy.
