I have no idea who started what when but the students at UND used to do that chant back when I was in school (88-92).

As a fan who has seen games at both the old and new Mariucci Arenas, I can tell you that the atmosphere at the old arena was incredible. It really was an intimidating place for opposing teams and fans.

That's a good argument...even if it was only temporary, the affiliation would no doubt raise the profile of schools like Denver, CC, UND, etc.
