  1. Looks like the buyout issue has been solved - Jim McElwain will be announced as the new head coach of Florida later today.
  2. I'm not sure if college hockey is parody land or not...possibly at Wisconsin right now, sure, but there definitely is parity in the rest of the sport.
  3. Well, we can't all be fans of the Boston Goo-ins now, can we? до свидания!
  4. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/12/bret_bielema_reportedly_target.html Well, I guess Bielema is saying otherwise...
  5. Haven't seen this posted anywhere but thought it was worth mentioning...former Sioux football head coach Marvin Helling passed away Sunday in Florida. He coached the team from 1957 to 1967. Godspeed, Coach Helling.
  6. That's a hefty buyout, even for a school like Florida.
  7. Bret Bielema rumored to be in serious talks with Nebraska...
  8. His political viewpoints are about as relevant to baseball as what kind of car Torii drives or whether or not he has granite countertops in his house.
  9. I'm sorry, maybe I'm missing something here, but what part of Mike Bernardino's question was relevant to the Twins and their 2015 season?
  10. Да, я это сделать!
  11. Speaking of running...shouldn't you be fetching the tool pusher some coffee?
  12. And now Jean Beliveau...one of the all-time greats.
  13. It's gotten to the point that I chuckle about it...besides, another great opportunity to use one of my favorite gifs of all-time...
  14. COULDN'T CARE LESS! The expression is COULDN'T CARE LESS! if you COULD CARE less, it means that you actually care, even if it's only a little.
  15. Sigh...I'm speechless.
  16. Roger that. I know there were other teams looking at Hunter but the Twins appear to have out-bid only themselves for his services.
  17. Sorry, Ray77, but no way do Seattle, Baltimore, Toronto, Kansas City, or San Francisco throw $10 million at Torii Hunter.
  18. Funny that Jeff Long wants to toss out the Texas Tech game as a negative for Baylor yet conveniently overlooks the Bears' 60-14 win over Kansas, a team that went toe-to-toe with TCU just a few weeks ago before losing 34-30. Don't forget, stud QB Bryce Petty sat on the bench for most of the 2nd half against the Red Raiders.
  19. How about some rhetoric from a more-recent president for a change?
  20. If UND makes another six Frozen Fours and winds up a semi-final loser five times and a championship game loser once...egads...I think I might have to gouge my eyes out.
  21. Great post, SJHovey. I agree with everything you wrote but would substitute Boston College for Minnesota. Had Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Ferris State won national titles in 2008, 2010, and 2012 (respectively) instead of the Eagles, we likely wouldn't even be having this conversation. The Gopher titles were a burr in the saddle of Sioux fans for sure, but 2002 and 2003 have gotten stale in a hurry for Gopher fans too. Some puck luck in 2001, a win over BC instead of a crushing defeat, and back-to-back titles would also have made the past 10 years or so a bit easier to bear.
  22. Florida State was skewered for narrowly beating Boston College, right? The same Boston College who beat USC...and USC beat Arizona IN Tucson...the same Arizona who beat Oregon IN Eugene. And Boston College also beat Virginia Tech in Blacksburg...the Hokies beat Ohio State in Columbus. But, that happened months ago, so who remembers it anyways?
  23. Correct, however, flash back to the 1991-1992 thru 1993-1994 seasons and you'll be reminded how quickly fans forgot about 1980, 1982, and 1987 thanks to 17, 12, and 11 win seasons, respectively.
  24. No, I wasn't trying to use you as an example of "that" fan. If Minnesota wins a 6th national title this season, no doubt some Sioux fan somewhere will immediately come up with "7 is STILL > 6" and think it's witty, while the rest of us cry ourselves to sleep at night jealous as hell over a 3rd Gopher title since North Dakota's last one. I have the same disdain for Green Bay fans who love to spout off about "Titletown," despite the Packers having won only 2 of their 13 titles since the 1960's. And, no, it's not because I'm a jealous Viking fan.
