I love sports as much as the next guy - probably moreso - but citizens should be outraged at the amount of money put into these ventures. As long as fans continue to fill the stands, owners will hold them hostage when they think a stadium upgrade is in order. Football is the one that really kills me. A couple of meaningless exhibition games, 8 regular season games, and maybe a home playoff game or two. At whatever cost is necessary, I guess.

Joe Robbie Stadium? Pro Player Park? Pro Player Stadium? Dolphins Stadium? Dolphin Stadium? Land Shark Stadium? Update? How about just changing the name again?

An NBA player can tell if a hoop is "too tight" or there isn't any give to it...an MLB ballplayer can tell if a bat is one ounce lighter or heavier than his usual bat..but I'm supposed to believe that a guy who has thrown a football since he was 5 years old can't tell the difference between 13.5 PSI vs 11.5? Agree. Also, does anyone know the track record for the Super Bowl loser returning the following season? It's not good. During last year's off-season, most "experts" agreed that Denver improved immensely with their defensive additions and would return to the Super Bowl again this season. They didn't even get close.

Former NDSU Bison fullback Tyler Jangula passed away today due to complications from surgery. Jangula was a standout at Williston High School back in the day. My condolences to his family and friends. Tyler was 28 years old.
