Oh, don't think for one second that the B10 will join up with the NCHC - this has partnership with "small-time" WCHA all over it. Minnesota administration will think it can kick Michigan Tech vs Bowling Green or LSSU vs Bemidji State to the 7:00 am Friday game-time at the combined X-Games, but they won't be able to push around Denver, St Cloud, UMD, or NoDak so easily.

You can buy NCHC patches at the Sioux Shop, can't you? If you don't put "Fighting Hawks" on there, I don't see a problem.

I agree - the NCHC can tout the programs all it wants, but the fact of the matter is, all conferences will have doormats and once-in-a-while flashes in the pan. CC and Western Michigan appear to be just that for the NCHC.

Big shake-up in Hockey East last night. BC gets upset by UMass-Lowell and BU loses at Notre Dame. Lowell now tied with the Terriers for 4th and by virtue of winning the tie-breaker, gets a HE first-round playoff bye. The Terriers now have to play a first-round series. Ouch.

I don't disagree - Bismarck should split things up. But if they weren't winning state titles, Fargo and GF would be mocking them for failing to do so with all those schools to recruit from.

Yea, I realize the years without winning a first-round game. However, given the population in GF and Fargo compared to western towns like Minot, Williston, and Dickinson, I can't say the results have been all that surprising. I guess I just choose to not label western teams of high school kids as "embarrassing."
