Once the logo is announced and UND starts selling gear with it displayed (ESPECIALLY on the front of hockey jerseys), the amount of Hawks gear in the arenas will pick up and continue to grow. It's not gonna happen overnight.

NDSU changes coaches and wins a conference playoff title last season and was a hair away from repeating that feat again this season (as a five-seed in the tournament, no less). UND makes its tournament semi-finals and out come the calls of congratulations from the board.

Minnesota's performance in the 3rd period called "gutsy" on BTN. Five straight power plays from about 19:30 to the 12:00 mark of the 3rd period sure seemed to help the cause though. Nevermind Ohio State last weekend, Michigan also won a SO against WI at home in the fall, lost to MN at home the night after embarrassing the Gophers 8-2, lost a road SO to Ohio State earlier this season, lost to Michigan State at the Joe, won a SO at WI, and lost in OT at MN one night after blowing them out of Mariucci, Lots of stuff to look back on and think, "WTF? How did we lose this thing?"

"...the Gophers have righted the ship..." "...momentum going into the tournament..." This team has been a win one, lose one all season long. I predict more of the same next Friday night.

The only question now is do they throw the gear into the air at the horn?
