  1. I haven’t had any luck with those names, Godsmack, but I’ve been told that BulletBoys, Danger Danger, Winger, and Stryper might make it!
  2. Ice Arena Man is in and the Hogg must happen for that reason alone. The show must go on! 11 am Saturday it is! See you at The Hoggsbreath!
  3. Gotcha. I think we're on the same page. Like I stated earlier in the men's b-ball forums, UND's lone game against Arizona won't mean anything if NDSU and other local schools rack up 2, 4, or 5 NCAA tournament appearance over the next decade.
  4. Yes, I'm helping make your point for you. The search for someone with "D1" experience has turned out to be a disaster. Everyone has to get their start somewhere. Jones has hornswaggled North Dakota into thinking he's "the guy" for the future of this program. He clearly is not.
  5. So were you in favor of or against Dean Blais' hiring at the time? Most everyone I heard from at the time viewed him as a former Gopher player and "just" a high school coach.
  6. You’re confusing football with hockey.
  7. So was the guy they just fired.
  8. I attended enough to know as well and while true for most former WCHA teams, North Dakota often brought well more than 500-1,000 fans to 3M at Mariucci Arena.
  9. gfhockey has evidently been workin' the phones all day today...
  10. That’s too bad. I liked Blasi as a coach. It’s a shame his team blew that late lead against BU and lost the national title.

That doesn't change the fact that the move back to the X was needed and long overdue. "We" aren't the only fans who would prefer that hockey be played there as opposed to Target Center.
  12. I'll be happy to take someone's ticket package off of them for $5 and a Bloody Mary at the Hoggsbreath this weekend.

You’re kidding me, right? After all the years of complaining about him...
  14. Stunned that the Wild signed a former Gopher. They NEVER do that.
  15. Godsmack Goon LeftyZL + 1 Fader + 1 Langster019 -- "hard maybe"
  16. I hear they are very good. This used to be my softball and broomball hang-out back in the day. I get there once a year now. Sounds like you guys want to get together on Saturday, eh?
  17. Aaaand UMass-Lowell and Providence College both blow it in game 3’s against BU and BC, respectively. Groan...
  18. Nailed it. The Nittany Lions are playing like they want a bid.
  19. He actually said that you need nothing but puck luck to be a good goal scorer. Wait...that may have been someone else.

Given how well you handled playoff losses under Hak’s tenure, I’d imagine the past two years must have you pulling hair out of your head.
  22. This team could have gone 0-35-2 and Hennessy would still be defending the coaching staff.

You know, life is pretty good if all we have to complain about is the disappointment in our favorite college hockey team. I personally know of two good fans on this board who only wish that this was their biggest problem in life right now. You guys know who you are — my thoughts and prayers are with you and your respective families. As for the 2018-2019 hockey season, I’ll try to stop grumbling about this year’s blown opportunities — and Canisius College — and start enjoying watching the NCAA tournament like the past few years when Union College, Yale, and Providence College won their respective national championships. In my lifetime, I have experienced 6 of those (although I really only followed 3 because as a young lad in SW ND, I was only vaguely aware of 1980, 1982, and 1987). I’ve been blessed hockey-wise — WE have been blessed hockey-wise. Had I attended NDSU like my dad hoped I would, I would not be the rabid hockey fan that I am today. I am thankful that I chose UND — and to UND for, in a way, choosing me. I fell in love with Fighting Sioux hockey about 30 seconds after the opening face-off of the first game I ever attended in the fall of 1988. I’ve had my heart broken more times than I can count...and yet 1997, 2000, and 2016 are the reasons why I keep watching. And keep watching in 2019-2020 I will.
  24. Point being that the past three years aren’t even close to being among the worst seasons in the history of the program. I personally got to sit thru 1991-1992 ( along with @Shawn-O ) and the next two years were even worse. Ask @Wilbur ‘s dad about the Bjorkman years — but only if you have about two hours of time to hear about how bad those were. Michigan’s done...Minnesota’s done...North Dakota’s done. BU and BC are 1 loss away from being done. What a weird season for the traditional bluebloods.
