What's with the coyote bashing? Sounds like some sort of inferiority complex similar to a lot of bisson posts i read. UND is exception of facilities at the D2 and even 1 level due to a guy that gave a 100 million for a hockey arena (basketball et al.) and good community support in constructing the alerus recently. The facilities at USD are older but at one time the DDome was state of the art (even before the metrodome). I think it is sufficient and by the sounds there are additional plans / wishes down the road. Also Vermillion is near the Siouxs (city, falls) and not that far from Omaha. They have good things going for them. I think UND has more but i am biased.

How do you determine a conference champion then if they only play three conference games. I don't really like that. I understand it may hurt playoff chances a bit but is it really that easy for them to fill a schedule with all counters (sans multiple 1a games).

I vote for a new host for the Sioux Football Show. Sweeney does a decent job when he is there but he seems to have other priorities lately. They can't send in a third string guy as it becomes a very second rate production. Hammer was good last year and if he can't do it I'm sure a former player or coach would do it (probably for free).

It's time to come out strong and start gaining momentum for USD and a long playoff run

I've seen he has something like a 3.9 in management and seems to volunteer for everything the team does in the community. A real class act.

IMO a complete failure of the marketing and the acting athletic department if this game doesn't draw over 10,000 and at least come close to sell out. This is THE game of the year for the Sioux fan. Be there and bring your friends.

Get your tickets today for $10. Or if you forget, get them tomorrow through Saturday, but BE THERE. The last NCC championship, playoffs and last rivalry game with UNO are all riding on Saturday. A few false starts would help the D out.

If history serves any precedent, take these rankings with a grain of salt. They are fun to look at but I don't really know why they put them out when they have a closed door regional ranking/ national committee meeting at the end of the year where they make their own decisions without rhyme or reason.

Any good team can have a game get away from them with a few inopportune turnovers. However what baffles me is how USD continually finds ways of not doing what it takes to win on the road. Also, in my opinion if you want to be considered a top d2 team you have to be able to compete and at least be in the game (and win) against fcs teams, even the top ones, as so many teams have done the past few years.

I've felt for awhile that Grand Forks hasn't taken enough advantage of the 500,000 plus people living an easy (sans the border crossing) 2 hour drive north in Winnipeg. Obviously, Canada loves hockey but they also support and follow football (CFL, NFL, NCAA). Both programs routinely have several Canadian and local Winnipeg athletes competing for them. With the two highest level college programs of these sports in GF it should be a major asset and receive the type of marketing it deserves. Hopefully, the Canad can improve the relationship.

Nobody is saying is saying that this will happen next year. The Alerus will serve as a great venue for a number of more years. But, believe it or not they won't be there forever. There are a lot of good people working to make UND football successful and grow as a program. One would actually hope that they outgrow the current situation in the Al. I think a 30,000 seat stadium someday, multiple FCS/1AA Championships, and a possible move 1a football could all legitimately happen for this team, university, and city.

4 turnovers and still an easy win. goalline fumble etc... This team still has a better game in them. It will be fun to watch. I wish we wouldn't have given them 10 at the end but still a solid W.

Can anyone tell me exactly what time this game is at central time? I think I've seen 6 and 7 but don't know what time zone it would be.

I've heard a lot about Delano Saporu that makes me think he could be another playing. Hopefully, these guys are physically and mentally prepared to contribute and not just covering a weakness.

Believe it or not it's game week. Get ready for Humboldt State. They look like a team that has used a lot of transfers to fill up holes left from a decent 9-1 team of last year. Typically that doesn't bode real well for a team, especially early season. However, you never what will happen that first game for both teams until they step on the field.
