  1. Here we go.. As you can see the puck streak extends into the red line meaning that unless that goalie is superman and can swing his foot to meet the puck in the very instant this frame ends the puck is going to cross that line@! For the naysayer who says, "But he could be super leg kicker super goalie man". Well Mr. Skeptic check the next post and let me introduce you to the glove that don't fit-the next frame, frame 1-AC (yes that stands for after crossing).
  2. Now for frame 1-BC Puck is right were you would expect extrapolating what you saw between 3-BC and 2-BC. Next shot is the money shot! (Did I just say that, Yikes@#%#@)
  3. Here we have the next frame 2-BC. Again notice the trajectory and notice how far the puck traveled in-between frames. The blur is the same length indicating as one would expect no significant change in velocity. Also, it is pretty evident that the puck is up on its side based on how thin the line is. Not that this matters..
  4. Sorry this took a bit. I had to go pickup my son from work. The only thing standing in my way was the 25" of snow that fell outside today. Ok, I'm going to upload a set of still frames from my dish HD recording of the goal. I used the zoom frame setting on my receiver as well. The first pictire here is 3 frames BC (before crossing lol). You can see the streak which was exposed by the fast moving puck as it is heading toward the goal. Three things to pay attention to: 1. The trajectory- where is that puck going. 2. How long the blur mark is indicates how fast it is traveling relative to other objects in frame (goalie pad being one I take note of) 3. How far the puck streak moves from frame to frame allows one to extrapolate general puck location as we go from frame to frame. Ok again here is frame 3-BC.
  5. Ill see if i can take a pic with my phone at the moment the blurr of the puck is at the line heading for his pad and his pad is well inside the line.
  6. What makes it conclusive is that it had to have gone in because it collided with the pad toward the skate area and that was well inside the goal line when the puck intersected/crossed the line. At that point the puck blurrs into the pad so it's hard to see so the refs could have stated it was not conclusive because you don't see the puck across the line clearly. However, this does not change the fact that it had to have gone in. Had to.. It was indeed a goal. ...they should mandate that goalie pads should be white. Actually all goalie equipment from waist down should be white. If his pad and skate were white we would have very clearly seen it across the line. The puck blended with his skate and pad..
  7. It happened at about the 7 min mark of the first period. I have it on my dish recording. It was 100% a goal. There is 0% chance it didn't go in. The fact that it was not reviewed by the refs was completely inconsistent with their behavior in this respect all year...
  8. North Dakota to the big 10 to make Big 8 then ASU replaces North Dakota in NCHC? Not that I want this by any means it just popped in my head like a bad song.. -~~hey Mocherena%##%@@☆~~ ...If it did happen I would make a condition that Minnesota has to get rid of the cancer that is Lucia...
  9. Depends on who you have at the points. I'm not suggesting we do this as some sort of NEW strategy. All teams utilize the defensemen in the zone. We have been doing this effectively the last couple of seasons. Our current group has had very little issue with turnovers and odd man rushes and in the rare instances where it has happened they have been very effective at breaking thrm up. My point is not that we should start using our D-men in the zone but that we were out of character not doing so on Friday at the TC.
  10. . “Individuals must get better at what they are good at and enjoy doing. Only then will a team work at its optimal capacity and have long-term sustainable growth.” –Vahick Yedgarian (Forbes article Vahick is quoted in) As soon as you find yourself in a role that requires you to play to one of your nontalents-or area of low skills or knowledge-a weakness is born. Donald O. Clifton, Now, Discover Your Strengths Last night I decided to watch the first period of the Duluth game again. A couple of things were peeking my curiosity: One, I wanted to check out how many times our defensmen possesed the puck up top at the blue line after we gained the zone in 5 on 5 situations and two, I wanted to take a look at the no goal call (if you want to call it that since it wasn't even reviewed). What I saw when I watched was quite telling to say the least. So hear goes... First of all let me say this, I think most would agree we have, top to bottom, one of the best if not the best defensive groups in country and it is a very very offensive minded group. Given this, I think it should/would be a primary focus to work to get the puck up top to the blue line upon gaining the zone, unless of course there is an opportunity through time and space for a quick strike during the transition. This is especially true given our D-men's ability to drive to the net as well as feed our dynamic forwards. So with this in mind I sought to count the number of times this occurred in the 1st period of the Duluth game. Here is what I found; In the entirety of 5 on 5 hockey in the 1st period we gained the zone and got the puck up top a grand total of twice. The first time it was only a single defensmen who touched the puck and then shot it... The second time (at the 7min mark) we gained the zone and got it to the point. It was moved D to D this time and ironically, this was the play that resulted in the goal which was not counted nor did it get reviewed. (0% chance that wasn't a goal unless there was a force field along the goal line which the puck bounced off of in lieu of the goalie pad which was clearly well inside the net). The fact that that was not reviewed is a very big mystery in my mind. We all remember the nearly 10min review we had to endure earlier this year of a play there was 0 question on....Anyway, I digress... Back to my observations: I noticed a little more in my re-watch worth mentioning... We were horrible at transitions through the neutral zone. We gave the puck away more than we didn't. Very unlike us? And when we actually got to the blue line we would kind of half ass dump the puck into the zone. Most of the time it seemed more like a pass to them as they clogged the middle. Way to many give aways. Yikes!!... When we were successful dumping it in it was down low and we were out maned and lost puck battles. There was no cycle for us. ...I should say this, I think the one area we are not as dominant at this year is cycling -In the past yes- not so much this team. The Pogo line can do it but really what we are better at is the chipping the puck with little passes and giving constant puck support and keep it moving while alluding the body. When we are rolling we come in wave after wave of relentless attack where everyone is involved. In the Duluth game we seemed more interested in being physical with the body. It appeared deliberate and looked to me as it was the game plan. Trying to out physical a team by focusing on body checks is absolutely NOT playing to our strenghths and a huge mistake IMHO... again, smart simple passes, hustle wisely and give constant puck support in waves. We can do that way better than anyone else in the country and it works the best when quarterbacked from the blueline. When our defensmen have the puck at the blueline I see good things happening and I want good things to happen. Go Sioux!! The time for #8 is now!!
  11. So Lucia, Are you enjoying your little break?
  12. We are 1-1 in the mighty third place game. Burnsies boy scored the GWG year before last if my memory serves?? Then Wiscy seals their own NCAA regionals fate by getting us into the NCAA tourney with their win that Sat. night...
  13. and Fargo is basically Paris with out the Eiffel Tower.

    Quinapiac?

So true. But I like a team with tons of scoring prowess to offset/lessen the probability we could end up at the short end and lose to a significantly inferior team such as Michigan was in '11. I think we have that team this year. Hence I feel good about us not losing to a team we are significantly better than this year. Still have to beat the good ones. :-)

    Quinapiac?

What worked out for them was Michigan throwing the puck out of the rink for two periods after having the fortune of going up by one against us. UMD would have gotten spanked by the Sioux just like they did that Christmas at the new arenas opening game-No OT needed...
  16. And in the unlikely event that Norte Dame has their name taken from them, the fighting Irish football fans care more about their nickname than the fighting Irish hockey fans do... It is not a pejorative that the Mens hocky fans have more stock and investment in the name. Persecuting hockey fans for a differential in their passion for the Sioux name is both asinine and shows a complete lack of understanding of the value of a nickname. Perpetually on these forums hockey fans get chastised by fans of football, basketball, etc...for their comitment to their name. When in reality the supporters of those sports who do not have the passion for the hockey program should have a respect for the situation Sioux hockey fans have had to endure. The Sioux name is the identification of a world renowned hockey program steeped with history on a national level. And the attack on our name has been both unacceptable and horrible.
  17. "Right now people are holding on to the old one because there isn't an alternative," Schafer said. "There's nothing else there." Sure Ed, just like the Sioux fans chanting "Sioux Forever" last season were only doing so to honor the last group of seniors to wear the Sioux jersey... It"s simply amazing how in line our leaders are to the nararative of the agenda. But I do love how they are failing to accomplish their final act-shaming Sioux fans. "Support the student athletes" is about all they have left.. Really?? I think most of the atheletes are all about the Sioux name, or they don't really care... comon, were going to make victims out of the atheletes over the name now? REALLY? Remember, A name is what you call yourself. Go Sioux!
  18. That's what my buddy and I call him. Always have...
  19. I cant think of the last time the Superbowl has been host to two QBs who were as bad as Manning and Newton (2016). Bears vs Patriots(1986)? ...I think a missed field goal by the Vikings has now given the Broncos two superbowls...Yikes!!
  20. No it was just the fans recognizing the last group of players to wear the Sioux Jersey.. oh.. wait...that was last years propaganda... disregard last statement.... ...It was just a few misguided students doing those cheers in between killing babies and getting their swastikas touched up...
  21. Yea, I don't think so.. I'm pretty good at predictions and I'm feeling pretty good about the Sioux name sticking around for a long time. I don't think the shills, the mandated use the fighting Hawks once per press article policies, the in a given situation in a game-change the situation to be less conductive to Sioux fan chants, fear mongering of NCAA retribution for fans use,of Sioux name, Goons passion for jamming Fighting Hawks into every other sentence in his articles, and the shills and sheep narrating a pejorative in response to every spoken word of support for using the Sioux name- despite all of that I say it lives on very well...

    Overtime

better yet Pinochle to settle Whist tie followed by Indian Poker to settle Pinochle tie... That's not insensitive is it?? GO SIOUX!!

I agree with this with the caveat that a shoot out is way way worse...IMHO
