The president of NDSU said the house had nothing to do with the budget shortage. It was reported today on KFGO. It looks like they got a lot of students but also a lot of tuition waivers. Time to make a collection from the students NDSU to balance the books.

Only if we ignore the NCAA deadline, Mplsbison wants to go by the SBoHE deadline and change it now so we can get into the Summit, well there is an alternative to the Summit and maybe keep the name and please the NCAA kind of a hat trick and that is to stay in the Great West.

We are in a conference. The Great West Conference, and in 2020 will be an auto bid to the NCAA basketball tournament. Just think if we keep the nickname and miss the Summit deadline we will be playoff eligible for basketball in another 8 years (2012-2020). So all is not lost if we want to keep the name. So can we get a quote from the head of the Summit League and get a deadline put in writing, also we know this will be resolved no later than Nov 30th since that is what UND agreed to in the lawsuit along with the NCAA.

Do you think UND has no shot at the Summit after the Nov 30, 2010 deadline?? USD will not be members until 2011. UND and USD are not playoff eligible until 2012. What is so important to drop the name to join the summit in 2009?? Good things happen to those who wait.

I think a deal could be made before the Nov. 30th 2010 deadline if the SBoHE would shut up and leave this alone!! Instead they are so gung-ho about the fricken Summit League. Our bball teams suck we won't see March Madness for a minimum of 3 years. (2012) and thats if our teams get an overhaul and start playing like NDSU did last season. Scheduling is not a problem (except the Minnesota ban), we have NDSU, SDSU, UMKC, Wisconsin on our schedules (bball, baseball etc.) But i guess we will see what Santa will bring us for Christmas a great present (SR can get a vote going...and SL wins the lawsuit) or a lump of coal (SBoHE changes the name effective immediately!).

So MplsBison if the board said tomorrow we are going to change NDSU's nickname and make the college pay millions to redue all the sporting venues and whatnot would you be okay with that. The thing is: #1 Why does the board need to interfere when the NCAA put a timeline that IS set in stone? That is the reason for all of this. Are they board? Nothing to do? Lets decide to screw with the NCAA/UND lawsuit. Why did the SL vote? Why are they screaming for the SR to vote (when they know that @sshole RHHIT and his cronies makes it impossible to vote and are now trying to remove the damage he caused) when they are going to turn around and stab the tribes and the UND fans/alums/ and students in the back and change the name well ahead of the Nov 30, 2010 deadline. I think 1 judge is all we need. I hope this bites the SBoHE in the @ss when its all done.

So how would this look...the SL lawsuit is dismissed, the SBoHE is ruling to chance the name and just when they are about too the SR comes out and says we are ready for a vote. I am sure he will have a ruling by Dec. 25th. Either the SL has merrit or they don't its almost that simple. Do they own the nickname in a way its hard to say since the NCAA is depending on them to have their blessing so in a way the nickname is 50% SL and 50% SR. I say i am glad i am not the judge in this case.

So far we are doing everything right except win a conference title but hey maybe next year. Lets keep building on the winning season into 2010 and be playoff ready come 2012 like SDSU.
