I love the Sioux name and logo!! When someone says the Sioux suck I get angry. Just like someone could come up to me and say the Central Redskins suck. It would make me mad even though Central is no longer the Redskins. When NDSU says the Sioux suck you know they mean the team. That team is UND no matter what the nickname is. My position is I bleed green and white. I love UND. IMO the best for UND athletics is to retire the name since the NCAA said they don't care about any state laws and the Big Sky said we could lose membership if we keep the name and remain on the H&A list. There is more to UND than hockey. I love UND football, and joining the Big Sky is the best thing to happen to UND in 2011 (bigger than any GWC, GWFC titles). We lose the Big Sky we lose football and basketball. That leaves just hockey and I don't want UND to be a one sport school.

So if a station you listen to bashes your team would you just ignore it or wouldn't you get a little pissed.

Until December 31, 2011 we are still the Fighting SIoux, and its a slam against the team not just the name. I am for removing the name since it will kill our athletic department as we won't be in the BIg Sky and living in Independant hell. If they said UND sucks would your opinion still be who cares? I see Bob95 has just removed that pic from Facebook. I guess they realized not everyone in Fargo are Bison fans. I bet someone is getting chewed out at the station.

Here is a pic(from Facebook) from Bob 95.1 a country station here in Fargo. I think this station should be boycotted and they should have to apoligize. There would be major issues if KFGO was still doing Sioux sports since they are owned by the same company.

In arguing with 26 on AGS about Sioux basketball, I crunched some numbers and found it quite interesting. (I left out the comparison to NDSU) What a rollercoaster of a transition we have had, but its nice to go from 8 wins to 19 wins. We just need to catch a break or two.

2004 they had 4 home games: Winona State, Western Oregon, NDSU and Augustana, however in 2005 they had 8...yes 8 home games only 2 of them was non DI teams. 2006 they also had 4 home games.

Almost sounds like SDSU is playing with fire...what happens when there is a team that backs out of the home and home? We have had it done twice in 3 years. I would love it if UND could put more money into football and less in hockey. Hockey basically takes care of itself with the REA being a HUGE recruiting tool. The Alerus is nowhere near the Ralph or even the Fargodome. It needs all the help it can get.

If its all about money explain how can SDSU have a full DI schedule their last year in transition and none since. Our football budget has to be bigger than the Jacks. I will be pissed if USD has ZERO non-DI teams on their schedule because I know our budget is bigger than theirs.

You don't create any $$$ with non DI teams. At least now we have more to play for than just a conference title and that alone should get fans in the seats but when they see a Non DI team as their opponent that excitement is gone for that week.  NDSU can draw 16-17k because football is #1 in Fargo just like hockey is #1 in Grand Forks but at least schedule the teams necessary to make the playoffs and the crowds will show up.

Then you have the argument NDSU hasn't had a Non DI opponent since 2006. Why can't we do that??

I just think its a slap in the face to fans who have waited since 2007 for a chance to play for a national title and your first game is against...a flippin DII team?? If it was a 12 game schedule fine but when 7 DI wins (which UND has never achieved in a season) is what we need for the playoffs SD Mines is not going to get the crowd or the Sioux players excited. What if our best player goes down with an injury and is gone for the year. It would be understandable if it was against a DI team but DII?? All Mines is, is an exhibition game. 6-7K at best for attendance. For PSU you can expect 10-11K for 2 reasons: 1. DI team, and 2. Potato Bowl.
