Close the retractable roof.

So if UND beats MSU (a BIG IF!!) does UND deserve to sneak into the polls at a number 25? UND will be at 5-4 with a sweep over the Montana's, and a win over Sac St which is 5-3. Tough call.
-
Yes we have a defense it just shows up once in a while...like a comet.

Great post!!!! Dead on!

Seriously Dan NDSU fans love to thow around their mighty record of FBS wins at UND because we have zero, well so does SDSU. But when I go to Bisonville (the only one not a member on), CS, or AGS I never see any Bison fans bashing the Jacks on their zero FBS wins. Do you think it really bothers us to have zero FBS wins? Obviously you don't need an FBS win to make the playoffs, you don't need a perfect transition like NDSU to have a good post-transition season hell you can lose to a DIII team during transition and make the playoffs in just your second year of eligibility (SDSU-first Dakota team to make it). So why no hate to them, just hate for us. You guys don't play us you play them but yet the boards are all hate towards UND and very, very little to SDSU even on game threads there is little bashing besides their stadium is all I have seen made. C'mon Dan they are your "rival" bash their FBS record and the teams they play.

He must be the guy I saw at the game with a yellow Bison shirt on mixing in with the Montana crowd.
-
UND practices ouside all the time I don't think it will be a factor..the biggest factor will be the crowd and how our defense does.
-
Bison fans love throw the "you haven't won an FBS game yet" thing at UND all the time..do you guys do that to Jackrabbit fans to since they haven't beaten an FBS team either? Of course you cannot say NDSU plays tougher FBS teams than the Jacks.

I am just thinking like a college student(devils advicate). I know I am not one but if I had a choice to walk to a game the REA is a hell of a lot closer than the Alerus. I like I am in walking distance to the Fargodome, and growing up I walked to the Hyslop, Memorial Stadium and the Ralph. I used to ride bike all over GF (ahh the 80's).
-
What is more simple than here are a few tv camaras, a monitor in the press box to look at it through and a ref to oversee it. They don't need a million dollar jumbo board. I think every school in the BSC is capable of this.
-
When UND moves out the Alerus what will that building be besides empty. Not too many concerts going there to keep it in the black.
-
Losing games makes it for a colder walk... especially walking home.
-
I just think if your building is equipped then have instant replay, or at least do it for conference games. Most stadiums (in major FCS conferences at least) should have instant replay.
-
3 lights and a damn train which I did have to wait for before getting to the Alerus. How long is it to walk from say Univeristy and Columbia to the Alerus...its more than a mile and a half. There are kids that live on the east side of Columbia about a block or two from Memorial Stadium. From the furthest Sorority (305 N. 25th St, (right next to University Park) to the Alerus is 2.2 miles but you walk to 42nd St then down to S. 11th St in 40 degree weather with lots of wind. Its not fun and students aren't going to walk that far. Plus if the train is going through you have to stand and wait some more. I think the location sucks!

So little buildings in college hockey have replays?
-
So why can't they say we are going to have replays at buildings that support it. Like UND vs Montana was on Root Sports (a major channel) easily could have had replays. If they can have replays at the REA they can sure have it at the Alerus.
-
How about location, location, location. The Alerus is a good walk from campus, and then of course pay the 5 bucks for parking (if they drive). Memorial Stadium had it where at halftime you can walk into the game and find a seat for free plus free parking and it was on campus (walking distance from frats, sorities (sp), and UND housing. Maybe opening up the game at halftime for free with free parking will get more people in the second half. Only problem is all the seats are reserved maybe they can stand behind the endzones. I think building it off campus and (in 2001) building it in the middle of nowhere was a mistake. At least the REA is right there on campus (even though not owned by UND) and is in walking distance to housing (frats, etc.) But since you can't pick up the Alerus and move it the next best thing would be to reduce student seating or threaten to and open it up to the public. Let the kids know if you aren't going to use the seats we are going to reduce it and let the public sit there. I sat with the Montana fans and they started chanting Montana and a few sections over the other Montana fans yelled Grizzlies, I turned to my dad and said, "if I stood up and yelled North, would the other half of the stadium yell Dakota" he started to laugh. There is no crowd participation unless its either a bad call, a UND score or its third down. The crowd needs to be into the game and yelling and screaming when the opponent has the ball on EVERY down not just third.

Yes it does. Even though we are in the FCS we are DI too. Such BS in the NCAA. FCS in their eyes are like DII. No respect.
-
Maybe it has to do with Mussman (in lieu of the Sioux Falls loss). Students and fans alike don't trust him, and caused us humiliation against SF, so they just don't show up, plus that year we went 3-8. Attendance at Memorial Stadium took a huge hit when we were 2-9, 3-8 in 85 and 86. When Roger started winning the crowd came back to really good and loud crowds in 1993. I remember UND vs Mankato State in 93 before UND played the Bison and that crowd was so loud the QB couldn't hear...and thats at Memorial Stadium. It may take awhile before our crowd is hanging from the rafters. It all has one thing in common....WIN!!!!!

Imagine Dressler on one side and Hardin on the other. Saskatchewan would be a great CFL team.
-
By that time Northern Iowa may be back in the top 10. I see they are still getting votes with their one DI win. Their votes should have gone to Cal Poly who should be in the top 5.

I thought there was instant replay in college football? Is that only at the FBS level?

Depends on his senior year and/or the combine. Kleinsasser made it, Chris Kuper made it so why not.
