I am sure UND's current name of nothing and logo are just as hip as those Flickertails were. UND can't be making much or any money on the current UND gear.
-
I heard people at the football game yell Sioux. Good for them but I didn't because they aren't the Sioux anymore even though I had a Sioux cap on. I will be fine with a new name because it doesn't matter the first name will always be the same. UND!!!
-
What's your problem?
-
And Bison fans also said Ferris State was one of the toughest DII teams in the nation last year, take it with a grain of salt.
-
I was thinking back to 2009 and 2010. Offense wasn't good but defense was okay. We went to Missoula and lost by 10.
-
Plus the FBS transfers can help the freshman along the way like an extra coach. Anything to get the players better and being a team helps.
-
They have an awesome offense, but no defense. Gotta have both to win it all.
-
It would be a lot tougher to build on. Look at the Sioux Falls game...how do you build on that? Or getting blown out by UM, MSU, EWU week after week. You take the win, and build on it. Then when you beat a middle of the pack team say a Missouri State then you build on that to try and take down the upper teams by this time its almost conference play and you have the big 3 in your sights (UM, MSU, and EWU). If UND beats MSU, most likely we start conference play at 3-1. THREE and 1. Some people thought we get 3 wins or LESS all year.
-
Have they been good since Peyton Manning left?
-
But its a start, just getting a win (even if its RMU) boosts confidence and you can build on that. You can't build after a blowout or a loss to a bad opponent. See Muss decade. We do have a lot of work, we also have Muss's players, you can't cut everyone and replace them with free agents like the NFL. You have to work with the hand you are dealt with. Bubba is doing great with the defense, yes they bent but blocking an XP and/or FG is a big boost. Getting a sack really got the crowd going and pumped up the defense. Yards are one thing, but points is what matters. 13 points by UND's defense who last year was ranked 100 in the FCS out of 122 teams with a scoring defense of 33.7!!
-
Some stats to look for: Through 2 games (UND vs SJSU, and RMU; MSU vs NWSt, OSU) Rankings are FCS only Passing Offense: #46 MSU 207.0 yds/game #84 UND 140.5 yds/ game Rushing Offense: #39 MSU 189.0 yds/game #81 UND 115.5 yds/game Scoring Offense: #36 MSU 28.5 #92t UND 13.0 Passing Defense: #54 UND 202.5 yds/game #95t MSU 296 yds/game Rushing Defense: #54t UND 182.0 yds/game #62t MSU 190.5 yds/game Scoring Defense: #47t UND 27.5 #68t MSU 33.5 Turnover Ratio #12t MSU -1 #43t UND 0 Time of Possession: #51 MSU 30:00 #95 UND 26:00 Penalties: #64t MSU 14 #93t UND 18

Thanks. I didn't know if the NCAA put a cap on number of recruits you can get to commit. 8 for next season and its only the second week of September, Bubba is doing a great job!!!
-
Greer is the 8th commit for 2015....how many can you recruit?
-
The only game with 2 ranked teams are Georgia/SC. Maybe if Tennessee was better they would be at the Tenn/OU game, but when you win 3 NC in a row ESPN needs to give love to the FCS as well.
-
And to think some of these comments are after a win.
-
If UND didn't shoot themselves with penalties they probably could have put up 30 points. They had a 2nd and goal from the 1 but settled for a FG because of the delay of game penalty on Mollberg (Bubba was absolutely livid and chewed out both Mollberg and a coach). Mistakes like that almost cost UND the game.
-
So far weather for the game is Sunny and 68 in Springfield. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=37.21532964800048&lon=-93.29823560799969&site=all&smap=1#.VA20XmRdWfs

Bingo!!!! We beat RMU by doing the first part....turnovers. UND had 1 RMU had 3. It kept us in the game. UND needs to do that against MSU. And TOP goes with the running game. Have Simmons and or Shags rush for a 100 yards and get the total to about 200 for a team UND will win.
-
It does matter. If you rush for 100 yards as a team and your QB is getting almost half those yards and you are NOT an option offense you are NOT controlling the clock and running the ball efficiently.
-
They as in one RB no, they as in 5 people combined including Mollberg then yes. Running the ball means having a back that rushes for over 100 yards, controls the clock and keeps the defense fresh. ( a good example is what the Dolphins did to the Patriots yesterday)
-
If they can run the ball they will win.
-
Plus depth chart. If the recruit knows they aren't going to get ahead in the depth chart they will choose a school where starting time is in the near future. Someone like Braden Hanson. He knew starting at UNC was not going to happen so he choose a school where we had an opening at QB. Worked out great for that part of the offense (too bad the rest of the offense and the whole defense didn't do much). Gameday is not a guarantee on locking up a recruit.
-
UND will win ....if they can run the ball. Bubba wants to run the ball this season and it hasn't happen with success but he is trying and if our OL improves and gets better every game it will happen.
