Since FU fans know why UND stopped play with them in 04, what was USD's excuse to stop play with FU. But yet NDSU was quick to sign a 2 for 1 with them before USD joined the MVFC.

Maybe they should have the FBS champ meet the FCS champ in an OOC neutral field game the following year. FSU vs NDSU from say Cowboys Stadium.

Because not having a nickname is not an option. There will be a new name picked next year. As for the name Warriors what will keep the students or anyone from referring it to Indians instead of the military. Kids at Marquette still go to games in headdresses and Warrior gear even though their name is the Golden Eagles. Good name but it's bordering that NCAA PC line.

If the MVFC wanted us they would have invited us the same time the SL did before the BSC offered membership in all sports. The only choice that was on the table was the SL for all sports but football or the Big Sky for all sports including football. Also when UND asked the SL for membership in baseball a couple years ago they said no that is why UND is in the WAC. You want UND in the MVFC get those eastern teams and Patty V to change their minds about that extra trip to the Dakota's.

Except the MAC is pretty far from NDSU's footprint just like UND in the Big Sky. A lot of trips to Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and even Buffalo. So travel costs will go up then you have olympic sports, 1 mil to leave the SL, OUCH. After that problem you have the Fargodome. 19k so attendance requirement is okay but they botch some seasons and you definitely have Idaho 2.0. Look how long it took them to get funds for the SHAC, without Sanford that doesn't happen.

It took Roger Thomas from 1986 to 1990 to even start competiting finally reaching the playoffs in 1992 and a conference title in 1993. That's 7 years from the bottom of the hole to the top of the hole. This is year 1 for Bubba he has a while to get to the top of the hole. As for being at the bottom of the BSC this is our 3rd year in it we were in the GWFC longer...patience grasshoppers, Muss f'd the football team big time now it's time to put the pieces back together.

I see them moving up if either the MW or the Big 12 invited them and they won't. No chance at a NC just a crappy bowl game and maybe a SB invite. That's not up to us, that's up to the MVFC schools who don't want an extra trip to the Dakota's. Namely Youngstown, Indiana State, and the Illinois schools.

I would rather have an injury during an FBS game and get a big chunk of change then get an injury during a team like Valpo, or a DII team. Injuries can happen against anyone.

I think SDSU should do okay since they rely on Zenner, but USD is in a world of hurt.

ISU is bad, but NDSU looks like NDSU of last year. I admit they surprised me, I thought Wentz wasn't going to look good since he usually is thrown into games with a 20-30 point lead but coming back from 14-0 showed a lot of heart and skill. NDSU will whoop Weber and IW, before the big game against Montana. If they go 4-0 before conference play, I don't think anything is going to stop them. I will eat my words that I think they were going to fall this year and get maybe 6 or 7 wins and not win in the playoffs. Looks like Craig left the cupboard pretty full and a 4th NC in a row may be in the future.

I don't get that. Hakstol took us to the NC game (or at least to the playoffs), Muss barely got us to .500. It was a big win, because it gave us a home for football. What alternative did our football team have? Independent until they found a home.

The name is gone and retired, it was the right thing to do to ensure a chance for us to stay in the BSC and to host playoff games. UND was NEVER getting into the MVFC unless there are teams that leave it like YSU or ISUb. As for the Summit League, Douple stuck his nose in our business during the whole nickname thing when UND still had the nickname what makes you think if UND would have kept the name and booted out of the BSC that he would welcome us into his conference. The name is gone accept it and move on.
