1984 it was University of North Dakota, today it's University of North Dakota. It's the players making the goals I cheer for, I don't go to the games just for the nickname. If UND would have kept Flickertails and never became Sioux I would still cheer for the school, because that was the school in my hometown that I loved.

I could have sworn it's the same school in the same city. I guess when they retired Fighting Sioux, they retired University of North Dakota. So the banners in the REA say University of Fighting Sioux, except #8 that says University of Fighting Hawks?

My voice was almost gone from the USD game but that victory was so sweet it was worth it. That game was one of the best I have seen in person since the UND-Montana game of 2012.

If people don't like Fighting Hawks being announced or on a uniform...stay home.

You have poor reading skills don't you, you didn't read when I said the words "beyond this season". I know the ice and uniforms aren't ready for this season but they can still announce the team as the Fighting Hawks and they can put the logo on the scoreboard.

There was a guy about 5 rows down from me at the Potato Bowl that was trying to squawk like a hawk and failed miserably.

And it seems like those that have moved on, bought the merchandise, and cheer Go Hawks, will probably be given dirty looks or maybe words will be exchanged. I just hope whether you are wearing Fighting Sioux or Fighting Hawks we can all agree to cheer on UND, after all we are there to cheer on the players not to go all political about a nickname/logo. Time will heal this issue and this is the first full year of having a new name and more and more people are accepting it slowly, but if the REA refuses to call the team Fighing Hawks or fail to display the logo beyond this season, then there is a problem.

Not all the players are shunning the new nickname. So booing this guy would say what.

I'm sure one mention of Fighting Hawks announced in the REA will be received with a bunch of boos. At least the boos died down in the Alerus as the game went on. If the booers don't like the name announced...don't go to the game.

Section 214 was pretty empty after they announced the winner. Pretty sad as they missed one hell of a comeback.

Ball St is 2-1 and only had 10,902 at home against E. Kentucky. Attendance in the MAC had been a lost cause for a long time.

Sound on the video sucked. I could hear the PA guy fine but when there was a video it was bad.

Crowd started dying when we went from 14-6 to being down 34-14. Then the crowd died more when the students jumped ship after the announcement of the tuition winner the crowd didn't get revived until the second pick 6.

I saw quite a bit FH gear (including me) along with just UND, saw very little Sioux logos compared to the other two. Of course it will be opposite at the REA since they are the biggest opponent of the name.

Refs were very bad especially the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty all because our guy was getting off the receiver. Multiple holdings not called, were these Big Sky refs since it was an OOC game?

Nice and loud to start the game, but once they announced the winner of the tuition money students left like it was all you can drink in the parking lot. There were rows of empty seats by us that was once filled by students. Pretty sad. They missed a good comeback!

Anyone notice just about everytime Studsrud turns around looking (or talking) to a RB he hands the ball off. If its an audible do it without looking at who is getting the ball.
