  1. You misunderstand their standing policy I believe. As seen by their scheduling history, they are more than willing to go on the road and schedule home and homes with teams they consider to be the "who's who" of the FCS for non-conference. Montana, Georgia Southern, Eastern Washington, Delaware has been down recently, but is a historical powerhouse at this level. That being said, there have been exceptions to that rule over the years that speak closer to the point you are making, Weber St. being the only one that comes to mind for me. Scheduling UND has a lot of baggage that goes along with it that has been hashed and rehashed and then beaten to a bloody pulp that we don't need to get into, but you and I both know that a home and home contract with UND doesn't end once it's fulfilled like the rest of those contracts do. Scheduling a home and home with UND carries with it a weight of pushing toward a yearly game, that is what NDSU is trying to avoid so they have the freedom of scheduling that they currently have to schedule some of these (no disrespect is intended) more "name brand" FCS teams when the opportunities arise. Call BS on the above if you like, but that is the perspective on the situation that NDSU and it's fans currently have.
  2. I think this is a thread specifically identified as an NDSU thread. What's the issue?
  3. Very ironic. Business is business I understand I suppose. But this just feels like a bad idea doesn't it. If I'm kolpack right now, I'm furious. His entire professional life basically he's been accused of being an ndsu apologist and at times maybe it's been warranted. He(along with others)has been a big reason why this run has been so much fun for the fan base. Fun countdowns on their video blog, pre game analysis on the opposing teams, post game coverage that I've come to count on as a fan who lives outside of Fargo. After all of that, when a check gets laid on the table you tell them thanks but no thanks? Feels wrong.
  4. So catch me up on the details here. How did this come about? Did KVLY make exclusivity a clause in their offer or how did this happen?
  5. More publicity than money can buy? Oh the irony.
  6. I'm as big of an ndsu guy as there is, but I don't believe ndsu is at a place where they should be restricting access due to a contract. In its evolution, ndsu is still in brand building, fan base generating mode. Guys like Izzo and kolpack are the best thing ndsu could ever ask for at this stage. Even if financially this is good for NDSU, I think that dollar amount pales in comparison to the revenue that could be generated by attracting new fans to the brand through as many media outlets as possible. The comparison with the Super Bowl or the others you mentioned doesn't fit because those events could not be more well known in the US. NDSU certainly hasn't reached the level of omnipresence or anything close to it.
  7. Granted I don't understand the ins and outs of the media business and if this this is the right move business wise for NDSU, but on its face this feels like a HUGE mistake to me and feels very wrong. Kolpack and Izzo specifically have, in my mind, become synonymous with NDSU football and deserve more than they seem to be getting with this new deal. I can't understand how this could possibly be a good thing for NDSU sports.
  8. Call this a being a Wentz apologist if you must, but I don't believe, based on the reports coming out of Philly, that Wentz not being named the starter has as much to do with his play vs. Bradford's as it does the contract situation. As was said above, Bradford just signed a huge deal. Philly is on record as saying this is Wentz's team moving forward, but they can't afford to invest the amount they currently have allocated to the QB position. So, strategically, they need Bradford to perform this year to show the rest of the NFL that he is a valuable asset and trade him in the offseason or midseason.
  9. If I had to say, I would guess the average age of poster on this site is probably 10-15 years older than bisonville. It lends itself to a more stimulating brand of conversation for me. Don't let that go to your head.
  10. I also wouldn't know, haven't posted there in 2 maybe 3 years. Don't read outside of recruiting threads. Can't stand the circle jerk that place has become.
  11. What part of my post made you think it was anything but good natured humor? It was a funny movie clip from one of my all time favorite movies in response to him wishing and hoping ndsu would falter this year. He was clearly looking for a response and then acted as if he was surprised it produced a response.
  12. Make it a closed site to UND donorsand all you're perceived problems go away, until then, I grew up in ND and find all things related ND sports interesting and will continue to read and contribute to any and all conversations I want to.
  13. So if I happen to check this site at a time shortly after someone made a post that I respond to, you folks are going to assume I've been intently reading and stalking every post just waiting for the right time to strike? Interesting perspective.
  14. You're post was clearly designed to produce a response. Why would you be surprised when it does just that?

  16. Bold prediction, guess we'll have to wait and see.
  17. There is no tenor to my post, as I said above, to be of the opinion that ksu would beat ndsu and do it handily was probably a good bet, just as thinking an FBS Wyoming would take down a rising fcs team was probably a good bet. My post was strictly in response to '83 saying "literally" nobody on this board thought ksu would beat ndsu. That simply wasn't the case. No judgement for people thinking that way. Hell, if I didn't have a strict policy of never picking against the bison, I probably would have picked ksu to beat ndsu. I had serious doubts about ndsu beating ksu, just as I had doubts about UND being able to beat Wyoming, just as many of you did. all I'm saying is it would be false to say that many on this board didn't think ksu would beat ndsu. is that a fair statement?
  18. First of all, you made the claim that "literally" nobody thought ksu would humble ndsu, so one example is enough to refute your claim. secondly, the poster above named at least 3 posters who were vocal about ndsu would finally meet their FBS demise. You choose to ignore that. the facts are many people here were of the opinion that ndsu would get what's coming to it, I don't even blame them actually, it was one hell of an upset. As stated by the previous poster you seemed to have reservations back in 2013 about ksu's ability to beat down ndsu, but that wasn't the prevailing opinion here.
  19. Are you serious? This place was rampant with people saying ndsu would finally be humbled since they were playing a "real" FBS team. Also, you can say they were a different team at the end of the year if you want to drag out that old excuse, but they did win a bowl game against Michigan that year.
  20. In my experience, the term core values often gets used when it is an attitude issue. Player wasn't buying into the coaches vision for the team. Doesn't always make the kid a bad apple, just not the right fit for that particular program. That said sometimes kids like that are "uncoachable" and may not be a good fit anywhere due to attitude. Not saying that is the case here, just saying what my experience with the terms violation of core values can mean.

    Give me reasons

You give me far too much credit if you think I could ever rock a mullet like this lady-killer.

    Give me reasons

As to the original topic, I'll take a stab as an outsider. UND seems to be a program on the rise. With the right coaching staff in place now, it seems UND is poised to get back to being a contender on the conference scene and depending on how brackets shake out, make some noise in the playoffs. As an NDSU fan, my perspective is, UND has always seemed to have a strong core of passionate football fans. Where UND struggles IMO is attracting the casual fan. This comes with winning, of course. But it's can also come as a result of the game day experience. The tailgating, the in game atmosphere etc. NDSU has some very, very passionate and creative people hyping the game and handling a lot of the in game experience. I believe, from what you all have said, that UND has a great need for improvement in these areas. Couple that with winning and it could be a formula for a larger and larger fanbase. So why be a fan? Because if you wait to go until the product is better, you are indirectly contributing to the product and atmosphere continuing to be average.

    Give me reasons

It would be a legitimate discussion point in the sports abyss that is July for a non baseball fan. He seemed to be making a point, I asked him to clarify said point. Sensitive? Nope. i realize the ndsu trolls you are used to may have no interest in being reasonable and balanced in their posting here, but don't lump me in with that crowd.
