Before we all get up on our high horses here, keep in mind I've been at many parties with UND athletes...kids will be kids.
-
This conversation comes up nearly every time two teams go head to head on recruits. Why did they choose to play at one school vs the other. The team that "wins" a recruit puffs up their chest for a while, while the team that "loses" acts like what they have is better and is incredulous as to why a kid would ever choose another school over theirs. The truth is, these kids are making life decisions, not just football decisions. Especially at this level of football. Maybe UND has the program he plans to enter academically, maybe he liked the idea of building a program at UND vs sustaining a program at NDSU, maybe on his recruiting visit he met a cute co-ed and wants to see it through(these are 18-21 year old men after all). Point is, only JJ can say why he is at UND now and he doesn't have to justify it to anyone except himself. It's his life and he's a North Dakota kid, best of luck to him in his life, of which football may only be involved for another couple years.

You all realize the OP was talking about the U of M depth chart not the NDSU depth chart at RB, right?
-
Feels like you may be forgetting some players who have also played at FBS schools recently. Those two aren't the only ND players to play FBS football in the last 10-15 years. A simple google search would be warranted in this case.
-
Definitely a player to be excited about, but as with all recruiting, only time will tell if he'll be an impact player for UND. And yes I'd say the same thing if he transferred to NDSU. Good pick up for you guys.

Literally impossible to make an accurate prediction.

In fact we don't have to guess since the #2 team in the country(Ohio state) beat the #7 team in the country(Oklahoma)at the time 45-24 in a blowout game that I was at in Norman Oklahoma earlier this fall. The score was much closer than the actual game as evidenced by the fact that the Oklahoma fans piled out of the stadium back to Sugar's before the 4th quarter started. I didn't see a lot of parity in the FBS that night. Had a lot of fun in Norman though.
-
If? Hard to say, every game plays out differently.
-
Ummm...you call that not making a comparison? Who is the #1 FBS team? Alabama. Who is the #1 FCS team? NDSU. I know it 5 already, but take it slow on the whiskey brother, you're losing it.
-
You were the one who made the comparison between the two teams, not me. Nice try.
-
Wofford completed 6 passes in that game and gave arguably the best defense in NDSU history a serious run for their money in a 14-7 loss. Option teams are different.
-
If you say so...if you ask me, Alabama would beat Oklahoma just as bad as NDSU would beat North Carolina a & t. Beat them 40 something to 7-14.
-
How is the FCS any different than the FBS? I would argue the FCS actually has more parity most years than the FBS. There aren't 9 teams in the FBS that could be considered for the national championship. 6 at most this year, if you ask me. alabama, Ohio state, Washington, Clemson, Michigan and Penn st. Most years it's only 5.
-
Why? Last time I checked Georgia tech is well respected and feared among the college football elite. Playing against an option team is a different kind of animal that takes a very different kind of preparation. It's fallen out of style in the last 20 years, but that also means most defenses are ill-equipped to handle it. Was NDSU not well equipped as a defense when wofford ran all over them in the playoffs a few years back? No. they were an all time great defense that ran up against a team that knew its identity and ran it to perfection. Option teams are different.
-
I hate to go there but...if it's so watered down, why is UND sitting on there hands at home today?
-
Your tone is disparaging to a team that now finds itself in the national semifinals. Why is that? Come playoff time a win is a win.
-
Zero, 1. Their fans are boring. 2. I've maintained since 2003, UND is and always will be NDSU's main rival. Despite what some NDSU fans claim. 3. Whoever runs this forum does an awesome job of keeping it mobile optimized. Much easier to access on my phone which is my main internet access point. Cheers to whoever that person is.

Oral Roberts has better brand equity on the NCAA basketball scene than any of the Big Sky schools you mentioned.
-
Well played sir. Easton and Keaton are very comparable, statistically Keaton has the slight edge. Both have that intangible "winner" DNA. Lots of good football in ND right now.
-
Probably better than Studsrud? Honest question, how much FCS football outside of UND have you watched this year? Like I said, I'm not trying to take anything away from the kid, he's gotten the job done. But I have a hard time seeing how he would be mentioned as a top 40 QB in the nation, let alone "one of the best".
-
Weber K.Studsrud 26 4/9 0 TD 0 Interceptions 2.9 avg UNC, I can't find stats for Keaton for this game, was he hurt the entire game? NAU- K.Studsrud 252 yards 13/34 1 TD 0 Interceptions 7.4 avg What am I not seeing here? Are these stats accurate or did I pull the wrong ones? It looks like he's been hurt two of the last 3 games and hardly played. Is that accurate?
-
Even looking at efficiency he's middle of the road. I'm not going off total yards here. I'm all for being proud of your guy, no arguments from me that he's had a solid year, but to say he's one of the best in the country is such an enormous stretch and maybe shows that this particular poster doesn't watch a lot of FCS football. There are some serious talents at the QB position around the nation. Taryn Christion just down the road in Brookings is near the top of that list as far as I'm concerned.
-
Really? Studsrud has been...ok. Hasn't made as many mistakes, but he also hasn't been amazing. Statistically, he's the 5th best QB in the Big Sky and you think he's one of the best in the country? http://www.bigskyconf.com/custompages/football/2016/confldrs.htm#conf.wi2

NC A&T/Richmond 4 right to lay an egg in the Hawks' Nest!

Might want to check who won the FCS national championship in 2008 before you say a team has no tradition of winning. 3 visits to the national semifinals in 10 years as well.
