If Trump wasn't the President of the United States he likely would never have been hospitalized. If someone had a blood oxygen meter on them at all times during regular, run of the mill illnesses their O2 stats would fluctuate to a similar degree likely. Seeing how many people, including the clowns on SNL talk about Karma for the president is truly disturbing.

I won’t trust reports one way or another, but if in a week he is speaking in front of a camera that would be a pretty good indicator that he’s doing fine. The old and fat part would only further lend itself to people easing their fears I believe. We have an old man who isn’t the picture of health and he came through fine, that’s gonna be a confidence booster for a lot of people. Again assuming it turns out well for the President.
-
If Trump has an asymptomatic or mild case, this may actually end up being a positive. It would show some people who were previously incredibly fearful that a 74 year old man can come through it no big deal.

What do you disagree with? White fragility is on the new york times best seller list and being quoted by and posted on facebook pages and instragram pages across the country all summer. I don't have any vitriol and I certainly wouldn't blame minorities if I did. I do blame white liberals and their white guilt for thinking they are helping. They aren't.
-
You may say that being white doesn’t make me racist and I agree, but that isn’t the prevailing thought in our country right now. My comment about racial resentment from white people wasn’t flippant, I’m seeing many well intentioned, liberal white friends being disillusioned in their effort to make a real difference on the racial inequality front when they are being told that regardless of what they do or say, they can’t help but be racist. This is the entire premise of the book white fragility. It’s a circular logic that ultimately always ends with white people are always racist. Its an incredibly unhelpful and dangerous doctrine that has gained a lot of traction.
-
Two things can be true at the same time. Outside of your expectedly arrogant patronizing to start your thought, I don’t disagree with what you’ve said above. That, however, doesn’t in anyway negate the current thought among left leaning folks that being white in and of itself makes a person guilty. Read the book white fragility if you haven’t already and you’ll see that white people, regardless of the way you were brought up are innately having racism attributed to them. Terms like unconscious bias aren’t being applied to other ethnicities. The prevailing thought in the social sciences is that racism is a white persons perversion. Being a white person in our country is the only ethnic position to be in where people openly can have a discriminatory opinion about you and it’s socially accepted.

What’s leading to white racial resentment is being called a racist merely for having white skin.

Physicians and other patient focused practitioners are to a vast degree in it for the patients. The pharmaceutical and device companies that truly drive the industry, however, are not. They are beholden to shareholders and profit is the name of the game. This is all obvious of course.

Is this some sort of AARP trash talk?
-
"Don't like it here, go back to where you came from?" I thought lefties like you didn't like statement like that? Also, you're capitalization and multiple ZZZZZ use just outed you. I'm now convinced you and Hayduke are the same person.
-
What sort of nonsensical non sequitur are you trying to pull here?
-
Odd that someone would call out hayduke for copy and pasting, yet you respond with a retort as if you are hayduke? I didn't buy the idea that hayduke may have multiple logins, but this certainly is odd.
-
To some people, not denouncing something makes you complicit in their actions and ideas. Especially when specifically asked about it. Thinking that way is not an unreasonable stance to take against the president.
-
If you thought Trump was a racist before last night, would his answer have convinced you otherwise or further solidified your notions?
-
He also should have more aggressively denounced white supremacism. He answered it, but he didn't do it in a way that convinced anyone. I don't want racism to be political moving forward, we need to decide that it's a hard line in the sand. Racism isn't to be tolerated.

I agree with that. With Hillary in 2016, she was not well liked by either side, so attacking her personally came across as heroic. Biden, as a person, is incredibly likeable and much more respected. Attacking him personally was never going to come off well. Trump should have kept it to the issues, on which I believe he would have done incredibly well in a debate against Biden.

How many of those beds are filled with Covid patients?
-
It's this sort of rhetoric from people on both sides that will never move the conversation forward in our country. Nobody should be asked to endorse every single thing that a candidate has every said or done. Trump says something and this person uses it as a reason to "despise his supporters". Does he despise Biden supporters when he hears Biden try to defend his racist past comments?
-
I agree, he is who he is at this point, but he certainly doesn't have the same luster he had in the 2016 debates.
-
I'm not sure what the strategy coming in for Trump was, but I thought he made a tactical mistake in interrupting Biden so much. Biden has a tendency to let his thoughts get pretty nonsensical the more he speaks, I would have just let him talk and see if he gets down a dead end thought road and doesn't know how he got there. Last night was an embarrassment for our country.

That’s fair, we just disagree. He’s a human. When your family is being threatened, I give anyone a pass for displaying emotion.
-
I’m not sure a person can be judged by how they respond to accusations they believe to be false against them. His actions, though driven by emotion, didn’t rise to a level that disqualifies him for me. Edit: if I remember properly, his kids were facing serious bullying and online vitriol leading up to the hearing. He has a right to be emotional about defending his family.
-
I didn’t say that, what I did say is you’ve accepted that the latest accusation are true even though you have zero information to back it up. Due process doesn’t matter to you when it comes to people you don’t like.
-
And what will you say when this comes back and isn’t actually true following the investigation? You’ll say nothing and move on to the next wild accusation the media will make. How you can’t see this pattern with the media is impossible to understand. Unfounded accusation...media frenzy...people up in arms...orange man bad...find out the truth...move on to next unfounded accusation.
-
Your last statement is a powerful referendum on the power of the media. You’ve already accepted their accusation as truth. Due process is dead in this country.
