I think you have to take it on a case by case when looking at individual drugs and/or medications. There are a ton of prescription drugs that affect someone's mental status(especially when factoring in med to med interactions) that are probably worse than Marijuana in terms of driving capacity. That said, I do think if we are going to get Marijuana mainstream like alcohol, some sort of rapid test for blood level of THC will be necessary for the general public to get on board. I have no idea about the viability of such a test, if Covid is any indicator of our ability to come up with a reliable test than it may be awhile.

I moreso mean your point about the demand for drugs. If Marijuana use were to become more common, I just wonder if other drugs would become more or less in demand. I could see it going either way.

Not a convenient way to justify corruption, more of a coping mechanism so I can get through the day with the knowledge that we live in a corrupt country and our representatives and "leaders" are some of the least impressive among us. Nobody who isn't playing dirty would ever rise to a significant level in politics.

Can you honestly defend Biden as not corrupt? His history speaks for itself in this regard if you ask me. This comes back to an earlier post I made, calling someone corrupt has zero effect on me and/or my ability to vote for them as I'm starting from the position that they are all corrupt immoral people.

What is the value of being a single country if we can’t have a unified direction anyway. We fight with each other on every single thing and nothing gets accomplished. Makes sense to me to start forming new alliances. I’d get the hell out of Minnesota if that were the case, assuming the lines would be drawn on the current state lines, which wouldn’t make the most sense. Outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota is much more similar to the Dakotas.

I do think we are close as a country to an actual split though, however that takes place. It’s pretty amazing that it’s stayed together as long as it has really.

I’m no expert on these things, so how would that work? Would they have their own leadership and draft a new constitution?

Interesting, I’ve subscribed to that inevitability for the United States for many years and agree, the process seems to be speeding up. Will it be possibly for the states to amicably split do you think? Who will be the first to break away?
