  1. Oshie had St. Louis trying to get him to sign last offseason, while offering a chance to center a line of a couple guys named Kariya and Tkachuk. What kind of offers did Wheeler have? It was Oshie's choice to come back. I don't recall hearing about Wheeler rejecting an offer to sign with Phoenix.
  2. Actually, I kind of like Kangas.
  3. I would have said Bryan Marshall from Nebraska-Omaha. Set-up guy for Oshie & Duncan?
  4. I agree with Wodon's prediction, except I would swap out Denver-Clarkson and BC-Minnesota for attendance purposes. Unfortunately, I feel the NCAA will favor attendance over bracket integrity and North Dakota will be in Colorado Springs instead of out east where they should be. Here are my picks: Northeast Regional
  5. Looks like he still has the lead in GAA. He dropped to tied for 2nd in SV% (.934) behind Bachman (.935).
  6. CC with the OT win. Testwuide with the game winner.
  7. Denver beats Duluth 1-0. CC & Anchorage in OT.
  8. I found tickets.
  9. If the season ended today, Lamoureux would end up with better career stats for GAA and SV% than Goehring. His current season totals are also better that Goehring's best season (1999-00). Let's just hope his season ends that same way Goehring's did that year!
  10. Interesting to note that the last time a Sioux goalie won the WCHA title was the 1999-00 season.
  11. Allow me to reignite an old argument: Parise 30-30-60 +23 Vanek 27-25-52 -2
  12. RedFrog, I sent you a PM.
  13. So if the Gophers have a .500 record and are playing in the Final Five 3rd place game, will Donny still think 3rd place games don't matter?
  14. If UND & CC head into Saturday night tied at the top of the standings, I wonder where the trophy will be that night.
  15. Under this scenario, they wouldn't send UND to Madison because Wisconsin would be the highest #4 seed plus they would be playing at home. If they did, they would be giving the top overall seed the toughest first round matchup. I think our best chance of avoiding Madison and Colorado Springs is to somehow hold on to the #1 spot in the PWR.
  16. Martens
  17. Pretty sure I picked up these odds at Bally's in Las Vegas.
  18. I had a chance to visit Bally's in Las Vegas this week to check out the most recent odds to win this season's Frozen Four. Here are the best odds as of Monday: Michigan 13/5 North Dakota 3/1 Boston College 7/2 Miami 7/2 Denver 4/1 Colorado College 6/1 Michigan St. 7/1 New Hampshire 7/1 Notre Dame 8/1 Other WCHA schools: Wisconsin 10/1 Minnesota 30/1 St. Cloud 40/1 Mankato 50/1 Michigan Tech 60/1
  19. I tend to agree with what mikejm is saying about Toews vs. Oshie. Toews very well may (and probably will) end up having a more successful NHL career, but during their time at UND, I believe Oshie has more often displayed the ability to put the team on his back when they've needed him to. I think back to the 3rd period SHG he scored against BC in the Frozen Four last season.
  20. In the latest Pairwise, Wisconsin and Minnesota are tied for the 14th spot. Since they split the regular season series, what breaks the tie? Is it RPI?
  21. Regarding Chorney & Vande Velde, this was on Brad's blog a few days ago:
  22. I'd love to see a series in Omaha. That would be a fun weekend.
  23. I wonder if we might actually see a first round matchup of WCHA teams this year. Conference matchups in the first round are avoided, unless five or more teams from one conference are selected, then the integrity of the bracket will be preserved.
