  1. Can't attend the game tonight. Have a Christmas party to attend and really didn't want to spend the night in my car on I-29 after the game anyways. IF UND plays like they did last night, they win 5-2. If they come out like they do most Sat. nights--SCSU 3-2. Got to bust out the snowblower so might as well bust out the broom, too. Sioux sweep!
  2. Agree with the 4 above, if not exactly in that order. I've said this many times before, but Martens is the most underappreciated guy to to put on a Sioux sweater since...? He just continually gets the job done at both ends. Has great vision and anticipates well. Zajac was a BEAST last night. Was excellent in the defensive zone and did what a centerman is supposed to do...make plays in the offensive end. I thought he was the best player on the ice for UND last night. I know I've been hard on LaPoint and Malone, but both were very good last night. LaPoint's save of a goal in the first, IMO, was the play of the game. Malone was beast #2. He was very physical and was solid with the puck. Thought the Frattin, Gregoire, Toews line was very good last night as well. Defensively, we were good and we are getting better. I really like Blood! And Miller really adds some playmaking back there. E was not at his best. The weak goal was right in front of us and that is about as bad of a goal as you'll see given up. None the less, he only gave up 2 for the night. IF this team can start to get anything from the top line, it could have something in the second half of the season. VV just can't create much and when he does Kozek can't find the puck or the net! I thought Duncan played very well as usual. And finally, the Mario factor. "I want winners!" and we win when he plays. Was a fun game to watch and was a great team win.
  3. Got all the tickets I need.
  4. What about all the kids that are on the UND FB team, UND basketball teams, pick any team and practice for 4(+) years and don't see "real" game time or very little of it? Kids choose the college they attend based on multiple reason, athletics just being one of them. Many go into college sports knowing that they have little chance to "play", but are more about wearing the jersey and helping the team anyway they can. Doubt that most college athletes are looking for an entitlement based on seniority. Coaches at this level play the players that give them the best chance to win and rightly so. If Walski, or any college athlete, felt he was being slighted at any point at UND, he has the right to ask for a transfer. But unlike you, who feels that everyone has an entitlement coming their way, my guess would be that Walski is most proud "to wear their (UND's) jersey" above all else.
  5. Prefer lower bowl. Need 4, but would take 6 if all together. Have family coming to town...unexpectedly! Any help appreciated. PM if you have some tickets to unload. Thanks.
  6. Not disagreeing with the need to score more. But from what I've seen, it is much easier to score with a 2 on 1 give and go into a wide open net than trying to blast one from the point thru a scrum in front to the net. WE need to get a few odd man rushes to give ourselves some better scoring chances instead of continually giving them up.
  7. Do numbers tell the whole story? Hardly. When was the last time you saw a game when UND had more odd man rushes then their opponent. It is not shots on goal as much as it is quality scoring chances! We give up way too many quality scoring chances due to odd man rushes! But agree that our scorers need to keep finding the back of the net.
  8. As well as E is playing, SCSU will score...more because our D will hang E out to dry! Don't think the winner of either game will score less than 4 goals and I don't see us scoring 4 or more in both games. I say this weekend has Splitsville written all over it. If Mario plays, then we sweep!
  9. My bad! Meant to say it took him 52 games to get going. 43 last year and the first nine this year. Get your point, but he has way too much talent to only put up the numbers he did thru his first 52 games at UND. But like I said prior, it is great to see him get going.
  10. Great to see Frattin get his 7th goal in the last 7 games and for Malone to get going a little bit as well, but before you go tongue in cheek and get sarcastic remember Frattin, Malone and Trupp had 13 goals and 18 assists combined last year in 109 games played!! And Trupp had a majority of those goals. I remember seeing Frattin skate during the Hall of Fame game at the Ralph last year vs. Mich. St and he looked like a player that could post the numbers he is currently posting during this hot streak, but let's not forget it took him 52 games (addendum) to get going. He has the potential to be a huge difference maker long term as is evident by his recent play. Good to see him finding his stride.
  11. He was a SENIOR then.
  12. "So you're saying there's a chance?"
  13. But Walski would have stopped 73 shots this weekend!
  14. Wow! Icing meet cake! That would be huge...in more ways than one.
  15. Martens is a kid who just quietly gets it done. Great weekend from him!
  16. Finally! Nice win!
  17. Kind of nice to see some potential fulfilled! Just got done watching Wall*E with the kids. Go Sioux!
  18. Forgot to throw in my 2 cents yesterday before the game, but for all you who didn't hear the recap last night, Tim H. said the Sioux NEVER lose when Jones scores! Ride the hot streak people, he is money again tonight!
  19. Oxbow6

    UMD Bulldogs

Game was on ESPN Classic in Fargo. Not even as close as score. 45-7 Dogs!
  20. I think the Sioux have a little bit of a letdown, but still nets them 4-5 goals. If this team gets 4(+) goals it won't lose tonight, E is playing too solid in net. (Cue DaveK and how it doesn't matter who is in net) Duncan has to be thinking what the h*** happened last night to have the Sioux go off for 10 and he hangs a doughnut. I say Dunc gets at least 1 tonight, probably 2. 4-2 UND with the first broom session of the year. Addendum: Forgot about the potential Mario factor tonight. If he plays, UND wins 11-0 and Mario gets a 6-pack and a couple of assists!
  21. Dude has the crystal ball working! I'll wait to hear from you on night's game thread for your final score and goal picks. Toews and Jones...that was soooooo money!! Nice to see the guys pull out a gritty, close win.
  22. Now we're talkin'! I'll put $100 down on that Vegas line at 250 to 1 odds on that parlay!!!
  23. Here's some postitivity: Mario plays, UND wins and goes 5-1-1 with him in the lineup!
  24. And I find a Wii Fit Pad somewhere for my kids this Christmas!!
