Stats are relative only vs. the competition and scheduled played to date. No way UM has the same stats offensively or defensively if they played the same schedule that UND has to date.
Now with that being said UM is currently playing as well as anyone in the country.
And that has what to do with Clark's last 2 starts??? He is our #1 goalie. He needs to play better than his last 2 outings to give this team a chance. Not too complicated.
And that was on one good wheel, but UND can't play race horse hockey and have a chance. They need to dump pucks deep, grind and wear down UM Dman. Kristo will be one of the 3 best players both nights. Rocco will be one in one of those games as well...split.
He is 5'2" with skates on and faster than any of your Dmen...good luck with that one.
I expect a big weekend from Rocco. He looked ok Friday vs. CC, but looked drained Saturday. He has another gear that he'll use on the big ice.
If a high percentage of these games this weekend are played 5x5, UND will have the edge. If the games are what they normally are vs. UM, games dominated by special teams play, that will favor the Gophs.
True on both parts...but part of that is his job as captain. He does need to let some of it go though. But the behavior towards the players by Shep and specifically Anderson was shameful this series.
You get rolled up on for 300+ on the ground in a playoff game after getting gashed by AP for 200 twice a few weeks earlier, you gotta go. Capers once again made zero adjustment last night. Better team won but that was pathetic.
BTW...the late tripping call on Mac was one of worst calls I've seen at Ralph...and that's saying something! Sadly this is what has become the norm in officiating in the WCHA over the years.
Agree. I have not seen UND Dman let other team forwards walk the puck to the dots without putting a body on them like I did this past series.
Simpson though has turned into a very solid dependable Dman. Smart and simple.
