If you are top line guy and your team is down 1 going into the 3rd in a must win scenario and you don't get a sniff of ice time in that final period...what's the rationale? Not saying he needs to be benched but this line combo isn't, hasn't and IMO won't work going forward.

Thought UND controlled play yesterday for early half of first then Niagara pushed back. 3rd period was evident how this team must play for 3 periods to win today. Can't let Yale hang around like NU did. Hak needs to put his best 3 lines together from the start of the puck. KKG RMP and Pattyns line from CC. At some point got to get 1st goal to get some early Mo.

I cannot believe this is still a discussion but Rocco has to be on the top line. Your 2nd line is RPM. 3rd line is Stephan Colton Drake. 4th line you fill in 3. This absurd lovefest with OD has to end. Thought Bryn was pretty solid for not playing in 2 months. I'd go Connor Bryn Rodwell to round out lineup.

IMO the 1st goal today will be extremely important. If UND gets it I think it snowballs and they roll. If not I see a 3-2 coin flip winner. Well...guess we roll with this then. Not a great hockey mind by any stretch but I don't get this. I wouldn't question it if Hak wouldnt always put Rocco on top line when we "need" to get rolling offensively. In a 1 and done situation the "need" to get it rolling starts immediately with the drop of the puck on Friday. This sounds like I'm gonna fit that round peg in the square hole not matter what scenario.

Minus the 3rd MTU game this squad has been average at best over the last month.

Pattyn's line needs to stay intact. Configure the top 6 as you want without OD. 4th line of Mitch Conner OD Rodwell Jim...pick 3 of 5.

My thoughts exactly.

The Sunday night Tech game is the way this team has to play to have any chance of winning 4 straight. Play fast and with edge but smart. Pucks to the net early and often is key. We tried to get too fancy vs. CC, made some horrible mistakes with the puck, got less than stellar goaltending and left the outcome of the game to a bounce. That is a recipe for one and done!

Then at a minimum Easy Mac goes to the top line. If it's not a 4 line type game, which NCAA TV games tend not to be, he is being wasted on that 3rd line.

You don't have to be a head college hockey coach to have an opinion on this board, but it was interesting that Melrose on the selection show commented on how UND hasn't won a natty in the past number of years despite it's great talent. I'll leave it at that...

Finley...at 6'8" every hit was "high" by him that game. Horrible call IMO.

To me this is a softball question....Rocco. This is win or go home time and the game will be mostly a 3 line game. With the emergence of Pattyn's line I think you stack the top 2 lines. RPM line...hope for year end magic like last season. I have watched all but a handful of games and Rocco clearly give our 2 Hobey finalist a line mate that can compliment them. Knight has seemed to really taken a step back in his play since Rocco left that line. Rocco is such a talent that he allow the other 2 to find more time and space. I go back to the Saturday night Goph's game when those three were matched in the 3rd...they dominated the ice vs. the #2 team in our offensive zone. Rocco is far from a defensive liability. This team is going to need to score 4 a game to advance each round. Time to let the horses run!!!

Agree...and this from a fan of the school that produced Okposo and Wheeler that made the NHL. Somehow the "me 1st" attitude gets a pass by Goph fans.

#Saucypaws It won't take him as long as some think to play in the NHL. Probably the most improved player in all areas I've seen come thru UND in a long time. He'll only get better.
