Hopefully in October... Both MT school are going to be as good if not better than SDSU. To win at this level against quality teams you have to be disciplined, avoid TOs, stop the run and run the ball. These things have not been shown to be traits of a Muss lead team. BTW Zenner has never rushed for more than 50 yards in any game vs. SU. Watching last night reminded me of a Big 10 vs WAC game 20-25 years ago.

Outperformed expectations?? What game did you watch? We lost and to top it off: 300 yard allowed on the ground, 10 penalties, 35 points given up and 3 TOs. This is how people have be Muss-tified over the past few years. Outperformed expections?!?!?! Really...is the bar officially laying on the ground?? Rumor has it players were issued participation ribbons and Ring Pops after the game for "outperforming expectations" by coaching staff. Goodness...

Lose to Montana next week then have Montana State coming to town who I believe just beat SMU and then have Easrn Washington??? 2-4 isn't what most fans were looking for to start the season

I said earlier that these two games South Dakota State and Montana will define the rest of the season. If they lose the Montana this season will go downhill quickly. I want to see a quality victory soon

if UND gives up close to 300 yards a game on the ground has three turnovers and 10 penalties they won't win all year good comeback but you can't win games with stats like that

SDSU runs same one play over and over. Simple cutback counter. Not too complicated.

At game...frickin' Ground Hog's Day. Same crap, different day and game. Can't stop run, can't run ball, can't tackle and little discipline.

Now UND could score 31 tomorrow and win or lose but anything less than 24 points won't give them a chance IMO. As in most games, winning the turnover margin will probably result in a W tomorrow too as will running the ball and stopping the run (to some extent). I'll stick with my original pick...31-27 UND.

I didn't bring SU in to this. One of your SU trolling posters did. Both team averaged 33 PPG last season and UND scored a ton vs. a poor Valpo team. I'm just calling out the "mediocre" comment. Stats are deceiving especially when you spin them as you want. I wouldn't consider either ND school's offense mediocre, but SU's stellar D helps out their offense more than UND's...at least the past couple years.

Stats make both ND schools look compariable offensively. Plain and simple.

This...^^^^^^ You swap defenses on the 2 teams last season and UND averages 40+ PPG and NDSU around 24-27 PPG. It would be about a TD swing in both directions IMO. That tells you how good and bad both defenses were last year.

Lose all 3 this month I see ZERO chance they beat EWU and you can't expect them to go undefeated on the road...so 6-5 is at best what you are looking at. Yipee!!! IMO the next 2 game will determine the rest of this season. A loss vs. SDSU, a playoff team, won't tank the season but coupled w a loss to the Griz with the Cats to follow...Yikes.

So IF we go 0-3 this month vs. the Big 3 on our schedule, Muss gets a pass again for another year?

UND averaged 33.5 PPG last season. NDSU 33 PPG last year. Not arguing with your statement above but 33.5 or 33 PPG at the FCS level isn't mediocre.
