  1. Committments from Nash and Lee would really bolster our next few classes. Would Lee be an 08 or 09? Good to see Bishop having success in the BCHL once again, but seeing that really makes me wish that he would have stuck around with the Sioux. If he goes back to another DI school, hopefully it isn't to another WCHA school, as he could do some damage... Good luck to Hextall and Trupp. And Ness is a huge pickup for the Gophers. That sucks, as I had heard that the Sioux were in the running for him as well.
  2. I think that Hensick will replace either Ehn or Duncan in the final three. I would love to see Duncan win the award, but I think it is between Hensick and Brown.
  3. Homer alert.
  4. I think he meant as a backup, not starter.
  5. Maybe they were confusing Duncan with future Sioux, Riley Nash.

  7. What does a title that the Sioux won in 2000 have to do with the Gopher players and their metro-sexual hairstyles?
  8. Berkhoel
  9. 10 UAA @ 1 UMTC --> Gophers in two games 9 UMD @ 2 SCSU --> Huskies in three games 8 MSUM @ 3 UND --> Sioux in three games 7 UW @ 4 DU --> Badgers in three games 6 MTU @ 5 CC --> Tigers in three games
  10. That list looks good to me. I'm interested to see how well Casey PZ does for Tech. He's really tearing up the BCHL this year.
  11. I think he has the possibility to be top 5 in points for freshmen at the end of next year. He will be a fun one to watch.
  12. That's no good. Although I would rather see him go to Cornell than to DU. I'll still hold out hope that he'll be a Sioux in the future, but that doesn't sound good.
  13. Yes, I would never want the Sioux coaches to stop trying to get those Blue Chip recruits just because they will only be around for a year or two. You definitely need a mixture of both those Blue Chippahs and the lunch pail players if you want to succeed. And I think the coaches have done a very good job of doing that the last few seasons.
  14. Umm, no. I could care less where these recruits are rated in the NHL CSS rankings. It's good to have some of those high drafted players (Toews, Parise, etc), but most of them only stay a year or two. These highly skilled, but not drafted players that the Sioux get that stay 4 years and really lead the team are the ones that I really like to see. The players like Panzer, Duncan, Hoogsteen, etc. It sounds like a few of the current recruits, like Trupp and Frattin, fit that mold nicely. And we still are getting a stud recruit in LaPoint as well. I think the coaches are doing a fine job in the next couple of recruiting classes...
  15. I like this pickup as well. He sounds like a consistent goal scorer, especially for a rookie in the league. Between Bruneteau, Malone, Hextall, and Frattin, I wonder which will be here this fall. It will depend on if Toews/Oshie leave early and if we can still land Nash for the 2007 recruiting class as well.
  16. Duncan won't win the Hobey....this year. I think he has an excellent chance as a jr/sr.
  17. Who is Brian Volpei committed to again? SCSU and UW are going to need some excellent classes to make up for the loss of Goepfert and Elliott. Those 2 really steal some games for them, and now they are going to be replaced with unproven goalies (although at least Connelly has a little bit of experience). Should be interesting to see what happens with them next year.
  18. I wonder what happened with him at SSM...?
  19. UND should have some scholarship space available from losing Hunter Bishop earlier this season.
  20. He'll be at 168 after the SCSU series. Then with the first round WCHA playoffs, that would bring him to 170 or 171. If they make both the F5 and the NCAA tourney, he will break the record for sure. Where he might run into difficulty is if the Sioux lose the 1st round WCHA playoffs in two games and don't make the F5. That would mean that they would have to win 2 games in the NCAA tourney (assuming they make it) in order for him to break the record.
  21. What's with all these good forwards going to UW recently? The 3 good forwards from SSM, Turris, and now Erstad. Why any of them would want to play that style of hockey is beyond me. Skille would have double the points if he played on a team like UND, UMN, or Michigan.
  22. I bet he does nothing of the sort.
  23. Jeff Tellmann runs the Pepper now.
