Tony Hrkac is back in the AHL according to Brad's blog.
Wow, at 42yo too!
Hope the old man can do ok with all the young guns.

I like their First Two Teams out. That would be nice.

Oops, sorry, I posted that over on the other thread too. Didn't check this thread first.
Yes, how will WCH spin this? And what are his thoughts on his pre-season prediction of Duncan not even getting 10 goals the entire year because Oshie and Toews were gone?

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere...but, can't say that I'm surprised after how he played in ND a few weeks ago:

Mankato's Bruess suspended againFor the second time in a month, Mankato forward Trevor Bruess has been suspended.
The WCHA announced he has been suspended for one game because of his actions in last Saturday's league game against St. Cloud State. In that game, Bruess had a pair of kneeing penalties -- one a five-minute major.
The suspension will be served during Friday's first-round playoff series game against Wisconsin.
Bruess also was suspended for his actions during a Saturday night game against UND on Feb. 14. In that game, Bruess also was penalized for kneeing. In another unpenalized incident, he took Sioux defenseman Derrick LaPoint into the boards from behind. LaPoint broke both bones in his leg and is out for the season.

Yeah those things litter the street up and down the strip in Vegas.
Much like Eaves' scholarship offers litter the street up and down State Street in Madison.

They're called vendors?
Yes..."vendors".
-
Eaves hands out scholarship offers like those vendors hand out smut flyers in Vegas.

To be completely honest, BU is the only team in the nation that scares me. 31-9 is right, BU can score on three lines and all their D. Colin Wilson is a force....Not many players in the nation that can play with him one on one based on his size and skill. They are a dangerous team this year, but saying that, I'd love to play them. They have a defense who is agressive and jump into plays and aren't too disciplined. We can take advantage of that.
If we play BU again, hopefully it just wouldn't be a repeat of the 5-1 thrashing that they put on us in the 1st game of the season.
Granted, UND has gotten alot better since then...but maybe they have too!

Jason Blake sat out the 95/96 season for his transfer from Ferris St.
He did play on the 96/97 National Champ Sioux team and had a 19-32-51 scoring line.

This is way too much bouncy ball talk on a hockey forum.
-
All the teams being mentioned are great, but they're all human and have been beaten by the likes of Providence, Ohio State, Miami...
Providence I'll give you, but I think OSU and Miami have decent teams this year. Both of them are inconsistent, but they've still managed to get some good wins and both could make it into the tourney if things go their way.
-
The teams I'd want to avoid until the Frozen Four are the ones mentioned, BU, UMich and ND.
I'd throw DU into that list as well, especially if they get Bozak back for the F5 and beyond.
I think UND has the talent and the experience to win it this year. But like has been mentioned, it depends alot on who they draw in the regionals. You've got to beat good teams to advance to the F4 regardless...kind of like the year the Sioux had to beat BC and BU...in Boston...in order to advance, but if they have to face BU, UM, ND, or DU in the regional, that would be tough. Odds are that one of those teams will be the #1 seed in UND's bracket though (unless the Sioux can win their way into a #1...).

Duncan

scSUCKS has no chance. None.
MTU didn't have a chance last weekend against UMN either, did they?
-
will bozak return for DU for the playoffs??
if so it can only help them. hes a hell of a player
i may be at o'sullivans sportsdoc friday, not sure yet
I thought I heard that the earliest he was expected back was the F5.
-
The Gophers won the F5, making them 12th.
Wow, so if the Gophers win out and take the F5...possibly the best they could do is take 12th?
They better not falter (and hope that no one behind them wins out or wins their tourney), otherwise they'll be on the outside looking in.
Go Sioux! I want to take over the Mariucci regional with a sea of green.

Was Fink playing D?
She must have one of the two mixed up...
Unless their coach pairs up a dman with a forward for each shift.
-
Totally different UND team than it was the first time around.
Previous 3 meetings this season with Tech:
2-1 Loss
3-3 Tie
5-0 Win
Outshot them by a combined 104-56 in those three games.
Hopefully this weekend's series is more like that 3rd game, score-wise.
-
I hope he has an aggressive advisor who sees that he's nearly ready for the big league.
Same here. I think he would do fine at the next level already. He is quite an impressive dman, and being a freshman to boot.
Eaves really screwed up on that one...

One individual disappointment tonight, is that it appears the last goal by UW gave Stalock the goaltending title over Eidsness.
If collegehockeystats.net is correct, both finished at 2.39 GAA but rounding puts Stalock just ahead.
Man, that sucks. He'll just have to win it his next three seasons now.
-
I like the way the Sioux are playing heading into the weekend, hopefully they'll keep the roll on.
Agreed. Despite the criticism on here after tonight's game, I thought the Sioux played well enough to win tonight. The difference was Connelly's fantastic play (and he was aided by the post on Kozek shots...twice!).
That said, the PP and PK could use some tweaking, so hopefully they can get that straightened out before the series this weekend.
Go Sioux!!

My predictions:
UND in 2
DU in 3
UW in 3
CC in 2
UMN in 3
Although I would love to be wrong on that last one.
-
CC actually pulled Bachman in OT...but it ended in a tie.
Here are the playoff series:
1) NoDak vs. 10) Tech
2) Denver vs. 9) Alaska
3) Wisconsin vs. 8) Mankato
4) CC vs. 7) Duluth
5) Minnesota vs. 6) St. Cloud

I would rather the Sioux stay as a #2 seed (or move up to a 1 seed) than drop to #13.
