  1. I would definitely count goals and points for Bochenski when the other two are gone. He's part of the line, after all.

Do you guys think that Blaiser will reunite this line again for the UAA series when Murray and Parise get back, or do you think he will leave Stafford with the top line again? I personally like Murray up there, adds a lot of speed and he just seems to fit better with the top line. I did notice that Blais was playing them together for the PP's, but not for the 5 on 5 action.

    Thoughts??

  2. When was this all senior line put together? If it happened in Denver I missed it. So are they now considered the 4th line while Massen and company are the 5th? Or are they both 4th lines?

I don't think that Blais will use the senior line if they won't even be together for the USNDT game. Blais will probably just keep lines close to the same as what he's been using, I would guess.

And as always, thanks again PCM!!

And I'm with Sioux fan in Phoenix, would be nice to keep the top line together for another year!

  3. PCM --

Just had to thank you for typing this out every week, I always read it and then forget to send thanks. I always work late on Wed, so it is always nice to come home and be able to see what was talked about. Thanks again!!

  4. PS: Im getting very sick of these schedules that place most of the home games in the first half and most of the games in the second half on the road.

TH said that the preliminary schedules for next year have the Sioux playing a normal schedule again, with series going road, home, road pretty much the whole year. That will be nice to have that back to normal.

  5. I think that the goal of 100 goals for The Money Line will be harder to reach than the goal of 200 points, simply because this team has so much depth. The LOF had 83 goals, but still managed over 200 points, so I think that the points are a much more attainable goal for them. Not saying that they won't reach 100 goals either though, because they certainly have the firepower to do it. :silly:

  6. Wow, with those line combos, that makes all four lines pretty well balanced. I think that Hale looks good back on the blueline, I say he stays there until we are all healed up with dmen. Does anyone know about Massen? What does he have, like 1 point on the year? I was expecting him to have a good year.

  7. So they're pretty much going to have to average 3 goals for a game for the entire line. That's going to be very tough to do, however I think games like Yale/Brown/Wayne St./UAA are going to be necessary to help them "pad their stats."

Only problem with padding their stats for those games is that Parise will be gone for the Xmas tourney games and the early Jan SCSU series because of the World Jr's, so that might hurt the line's numbers a little bit.

  8. so in other words it is ok as long as others do it, but don't get caught?!?! C'mon! There is some scary repercussions to thinking like that!

I wasn't trying to say that it was ok as long as you don't get caught, I was saying that it didn't matter if just Parise and Smaby got caught, because if Blais punishes them, he should punish everyone that was present at the bar. Which maybe he is attempting to do with this "bar banning" until xmas thing.

  9. The Sioux need to figure out how best to put points on the board when Zach is not in the equation. We don't want to be a one line team and taking Zach out voluntarily isn't an option. With an infraction, you can work on this dilemma and still have a viable reason for sitting Zach out. No, I'm not saying that Blais is hoping that Zach gets in trouble, but whenever a team takes the ice, they head right to Zach. If they can make the Sioux offense into a threat without Zach, just think about what it will be like with him on the ice?

I'm sure the Sioux will get plenty of time to find out how the offense works without Zach from Dec 27 - Jan 5. :)

  10. You'd think that if Blais was going to give suspensions for the bar incident that something would have been mentioned by now. I mean, we're only three days away until the Yale series. Plus, it is kind of hard to just punish Parise and Smaby with suspensions just because they were the only two to get caught.

  11. I think Blais got it right if he did what I have been hearing... He apparently has banned ALL of his players from bars until after Christmas. I think this is a good move on his part, maybe the older guys will be more proactive about keeping their younger teamates out of bars. I have no way of verifying this, it is just what I read on one of the boards, but I thought it was a good idea. :)

I will verify it. I posted it on USCHO; the whole team is banned from the bar scene until x-mas break. I also think that this is a good move on his part. I still have no idea if Blais will take any further action on Parise and Smaby for actually getting caught in the ordeal, or if he will view the "team punishment" as punishment enough.

  12. Well, according to tonights coaches show, it sounds like Zach has been winning the sprints in practice and Blais is going to let him play.

Does that mean that if we still had Spiewak on the team that Zach wouldn't be playing?? ;)

  13. U2Bad1-

I would love it if the Sioux won their 1st round playoffs and went to the Xcel Center and killed the Bulldogs in the play-in game. Maybe that would quiet down the 300 Bulldog newbies on USCHO. If it happens, I will be there chanting "Season's over" and loving every minute of it. ??????

  14. On USCHO, someone posted that Kasey Moreland had been discussing possibly playing for the Sioux next year as well. Anyone else hear anything about this? My god that's alot of goalies. Maybe they'll have 8 or 9 goalies for tryouts and just pick the 4 best ones. ???

  15. Isn't Lamoureux coming to the Sioux in two years and Sedevie coming next year? I don't remember. Either way, if Ziggy wanted to walk on the team, that would be alot of goalies. Sofie, Brandt, Siembida, Sedevie, and Ziggy. That's quite a few. And only Sofie would graduate by the time Phillipe comes to the team. Not that I care how many goalies we have, as long as a few of them can stop the puck on a consistent basis.

  16. Brian, I have a pair of breezers, shoulder pads, and a stick that my stepdad gave me in case I ever learn how to play. Your friend can borrow them if they fit. They're his son's old ones. I don't know about a helmet or gloves though.

Thanks for the offer. I talked to my roommate and he'll let me borrow his equipment for my friend to use. This is going to be scary, he can barely skate as it is, and now we're going to throw pads on him. ???
