Eichel is skilled, but tried to do too much himself all tournament. Lot of weak penalties today, with most being called against the US. The Russian gameplan appeared to be to fall or grab their faces anytime a stick got within a foot of their heads. This was a highly-skilled group of US forwards, but for whatever reason they just didn't click all tourney. Not nearly as much offense as what they were capable of...especially on the PP. Looked horrible most times.

That would be my guess as well. If Zane stays, I could see our 3 goalies stay the same as what we have now for 15/16. That would be ideal, as then Tomek could come in the next season with Johnson as a junior and those two could rotate to get Tomek acclimated until one starter emerges. I like our little pipeline with Penticton. Certainly doesn't hurt to have Nick Fuher up there as an assistant coach. And another Stecher? I would take that in a heartbeat. I like it. "Today, UND would like to announce a four-pack of recruit commitments: Welcome to the team Matthews, Boeser, Fabbro, and Jost!"

Couple great pickups there! Good recruiting day. Wonder why Hakstol hasn't announced the Matthews/Boeser combo yet? Probably just waiting until after USA wins gold in WJC so as not to distract Matthews. Sounds about right. Also good to see Rowe commit to ASU. May see him again should ASU join the NCHC.

I guess it's hard for the refs to call it a no goal being that it was Team Canada...in Canada. That was a no-win situation for the USA.

Yon will still be 2016 I would guess. Hakstol had a phone chat with Rowe and told him the circumstances. Due to the recent (not yet released) commitment of Boeser and Matthews for 2015, Cagguila told Hak that he was hoping to stay another year for the "dream season" of playing with that many high talented forwards. Upon hearing this, both Schmaltz brothers signed the pact to stay another season as well. Essentially Hak had to tell Rowe that there wouldn't be room for him again, and they both mutually agreed that a different college might be best for him. At least that's how I have it playing out. Happy New Year to everyone in SiouxSports land!

Blais already has enough to worry about with his team getting smoked by a bad UNH team today...

Wow, that Domi is a little punk. I am stunned that the goalie interference goal counted. Ridiculous.

If any NCHC team can lose some bad OOC games, it is certainly Omaha. They always seem to have issues with their OOC schedule.
-
I can't believe that LSSU won that tourney. They make these schedules like 4-5 years in advance. Kind of hard to predict some teams that might be up/down in half a decade. Also, it has been mentioned in the past that scheduling "easier" OOC teams would be more beneficial to the PWR...what would be better: to be .500 in OOC record due to scheduling tough teams or to be 7-1-1 like we currently are against weaker competition? My guess is that you would be on here shouting for Hakstol to be fired in either scenario.

UMass beats Sacred Heart 5-1. Quinnipiac beats Princeton 2-0. Conn beats Union 3-2. Yale is playing Russian Red Stars and CC is playing U18 team in exhibition action.

Might as well fold up the program.

UNO ties it with 21 sec left.

Fixed.

Just got in...have they given an update on Genoway's status?

Thought this was interesting: http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/2014/12/16/7403999/thatcher-demko-whl-rights-traded-spokane-chiefs-calgary-hitmen-boston-college-hockey-east-wjc-2015 Demko from BC...potential goalie starter for the USA WJC team...just had his WHL rights traded to the Hitmen (the same team that plucked Adam Tambellini from us during the semester break last year). Interesting timing for sure, even if the GM for the Hitmen claims that it was just a shot in the dark trade.
-
Sorry, I don't want UND to ever have a player named Krys on the team. Every time he was on the ice it would just remind me of a certain Krys from BC that...well, you know.

Welcome back, Bryn.
-
Remember that Matthews needs a roster spot too.
-
Something tells me that Boeser isn't going to UW. Just seems weird to me that he would decommit to UW, and then just commit again to them. My guess is either UMN or UND.
-
UMN is giving up a ton of shots to opponents this year. MSU outshot them 45-24 in tonight's game. Yowza.

I could care less about these grammar lessons. I bet Toews and his hottie girlfriend could care less too.
