Great dominating win! Killed them in every facet of the game. Faceoffs, shots, time of possession. Great game taking out the hottest team in the nation and Hockey East champs. Hopefully more Hockey East teams go down now...their smugness might have gone down a bit after this. Remember the guy that said UND wouldn't even be a 7th place team in HEA?

Alright. Let's do this, Sioux. 4 to go. It starts with one.

I've had enough of gfhockey, him and his drunk cronies sat behind me at the Frozen Faceoff. -

NORTH DAKOTA vs. Northeastern // Mich vs. Notre Dame
brianvf replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
It was during the first period. UND was up 1-0 at that point...right after UMD killed off the UND PP. -
That's too bad if true, but oh well. I was just selfishly hoping that ASU would join NCHC so I could see UND come down here every season for a series. Notre Dame would have probably won B10 this year with how inconsistent UM and UMN were.

I think we're in a regional with 3 not very defensively sound teams. CBS and others should hopefully be able to take advantage. Boeser was especially snake bit during the Frozen Faceoff. He had a lot of pucks hop over his stick and (especially) UMD knew to put a body on him instantly when he got the puck in the offensive zone. I expect Boeser to break out a bit with a few goals this regional.

NORTH DAKOTA vs. Northeastern // Mich vs. Notre Dame

Notre Dame as well with a flight. Yeah, I saw that stat too on BC...pretty crazy. I'm interested to see how UMD and DU do in their 1st round games against Prov and BU as well. I haven't seen either Prov or BU play yet this year, so not sure what to expect against two very strong NCHC teams that are both playing well. If BU makes it out of their bracket, they'll have earned it by beating two of NCHC's best (assuming SCSU gets past FSU). -

Man, reading the comments on the USCHO articles, the Hockey East backers are extremely confident/cocky. Some are saying that it will be an all-HEA F4 and dismissing the fact that the NCHC had 6 teams in last year but didn't end up winning the title. It's ridiculous. Here's hoping that UND, Denver, Michigan, Yale, Duluth, and Harvard can shut them all up on round one. I'm liking the chances of at least 3-4 of them going down in the first round. I think BC or UMass has the best chance of the HEA teams at advancing out of their regions...but hopefully the majority of the rest perish in the opening game. -

It seems that most in the Eastern part of the US already have. That's fine. I think it should be a good game. It'd be nice if UND came out firing on all cylinders and shut them up promptly. -

This isn't bulletin board material, this just proves that there are a lot of idiots out there. -
Between SCSU and UMD? I actually don't think either of them will make it out of their region. SCSU was outplayed IMO both nights...Denver had a lot of chances hop over their sticks, and UMD outchanced them pretty handily. I could see UMD getting a non-NCHC ref that calls all the interference they do and they'll be on the PK all game.
-
Should remember that UMass played a 3-ot game the night before as well, so if NE looked like they were flying around them, that probably played a part. I would love to take down their winning streak and then take out Michigan and their one line and no defense.
-
For real, probably. The championship game for two schools within 2 hours of the game driving distance was attended by 80% UND fans. Pretty weak.
-
Man, Northeastern is going to be a tough out. They're on a heck of a good roll, hottest team in the NCAA's in the 2nd half. They definitely played some weaker competition during that run, but took down Harvard, UMass-Lowell, BC too. Not the best draw for the first round...
-
I was anticipating a lot more SCSU and UMD fans. Disappointed in their turnout...
-
I smell a date with Northeastern coming.

The best part of this picture is all the varying emotions. You have some people that were too busy cheering to see the no goal call, so they're still celebrating UMN "tying" it up. You have some angry fans. You have some "disbelieving head holders". And then you have the one (maybe drunk) fan still sieving the UW goalie during the entire goal review and subsequent no goal call. Good stuff.

Somewhat expected, but Boeser won the NCHC RoTY. -
5-2 Final PSU over UW. Badgers season is over. Bye Coach Eaves, nice work bringing UW into the toilet in just a matter of a couple years.

Paid or attending? If actual people in seats, I would say way under.

Last weekly edition of Bracketology before the conference tourneys: East Regional (Albany): 13 Minnesota-Duluth vs. 4 Providence 11 Harvard vs. 5 Boston College Northeast Regional (Worcester): 16 Robert Morris vs. 2 Quinnipiac 10 Yale vs 8 Massachusetts-Lowell Midwest Regional (Cincinnati): 14 Michigan Tech vs. 3 St. Cloud State 12 Notre Dame vs. 7 Michigan West Regional (St. Paul): 15 Minnesota vs. 1 North Dakota 9 Boston University vs. 6 Denver Once again, QU is in the easiest bracket on paper, and that West regional is a killer. This is, of course, still assuming that UMN wins the B10 tourney.

They're my favorite to lose in the first round by the score of 8-6, with the CCM line scoring all 6 of their goals...but unfortunately for them, their horrible defense and goalie letting in 8. EDIT: Brad sums it up pretty well:
