You can't beat experience in NCAA hockey. Both Senden and Hain returning brings back good experience and leadership, which is great. I'm sure Berry already has an idea of incoming recruits/outgoing portal forwards/etc. As long as we don't lose out on any incoming recruits because we ask them to wait a year, I'm good. Guys like Strinden, Spicer, etc could very much benefit from another year of juniors before making the jump to NCAA hockey. Now I'm just wondering who we'll see enter the portal from our forward group. There's got to be 1 or 2 players I'd guess unless we're carrying 17F?

Yeah would have been great to get another year out of a portal guy since that means next year we'll lose half our d-corps, but for 23/24 we could bring in a couple recruits and 1-2 more portal guys. Sucks to rely on the portal, but it's there, so might as well take advantage and use it.

Seems to be a nice pickup. Doesn't appear to be too offensive-minded (looking at his stats), but if he can hold down the fort defensively, that's what matters I suppose! Welcome to the team, Ty!

Three players from WMU entered the portal, including their only two remaining goalies. After Bussi signed and the other two are now in the portal, that leaves them with no goalies.

If that's the case, do we still have 1-2 forwards too many for next season...especially if Hain returns?

Just double-checked, you're right...I thought he only had one year of eligibility remaining, but he has 2. Hopefully Berry can land him! Back-to-back Tampa 'ships...yeah, I'd be on board with that.

Also, Linden from RPI would be an interesting get. Putting up almost 40pts with half of them goals...wonder how much of that would transfer over to a much harder league. Neither Ford nor Calder matched their goal total from LSSU/BGSU (Ford went from 16g down to 4g...although did match his point total of 28 and Calder went from 16g down to 11g with 8 less total pts).
