  1. You can only go to the SS William A. Irvin museum so many times, though.
  2. For sure helped them having Perunovich who came in as a freshman and led the team in points by a fair margin. Not sure any of our incoming D fit that mold, but for sure our current D recruits should be steady. Agreed.
  3. BC gets 3rd place in the Beanpot, beating BU 4-2 Harvard and Northeastern tied 1-1 at about the halfway point of the game for the Beanpot champ title.
  4. I think it is hard to say that a freshman is regressing, being that they have no collegiate body of work to compare them to. What would we call Blake then? Since he is playing better than expected...is he getting better under Berry's leadership? And even saying that...I'd say that both OwenMc and James have shown improvement this year as the season has progressed. Still some mistakes in their games from time to time, but they'll both be excellent players for us in upcoming years. Johnson is another case entirely. I am guessing there is something going on behind the scenes there that we don't see.
  5. Not many. I'm guessing none of the current UMN stud players will ever play with any of their U17 recruits.
  6. I think James will be one that has a great SO/JR seasons...he's put up a respectable 11 pts while seeing most of his ice time from the 3rd/4th line with no PP time. Next season he'll be put into more of a scoring role and I bet he'll do well.
  7. BC got all the stud U18 team players and UMN got all the stud U17 players with Whipple, Eiserman, and Ziemer. Going in cycles it seems. Hopefully it comes back around to UND again at some point.
  8. And they have the right ones coming in too. Their entire top line of Perreault, Smith, and Leonard plus Vote and dmen Minnetian and Fortescue. They cleaned up from that U18 team.
  9. Good breakdown and agreed completely. I still think next year's team has the chance to be a good amount better offensively than this year's team...if they can shore up the D and the G aspects...then it could be a good rebound year after this disappointment.
  10. Berry instructs the players to skate at 85-90% speed as part of his style?
  11. The first few years I lived here, I thought the same. Now the summers seem to drag on for so long and the triple digit temps every day just drain you. I've already told my wife that we're gonna retire somewhere with actual seasons again.
  12. My post was also before the new dman recruit Tanner Komzak as well. So the 5 incoming dman recruits could be Wiebe, Benoit, Livanavage, Strathmann, and Komzak...unless one of those gets delayed another year to bring in an experienced portal dman.
  13. I live 20 minutes away from the ASU campus. The weather in summer here is equally as horrendous as the weather in winter in GF. Just on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.
  14. Here's what I posted a few months ago in the 22/23 season thread as an outlook to 23/24: This was all before Johnson was put on "permanent bench" status, so I guess add him to the potentially gone list as well.
  15. I could see them keeping four goalies on roster again...Johnson, Hellsten, and two new goalies. And then Hedquist plays one more year of juniors?
  16. You think they'll carry four goalies again or that Hellsten is also going to leave?
  17. Unfortunately they're gonna be forced to go portal for a goalie and dmen next season regardless unless they pick up some late bloomer recruits this summer.
  18. Won't they automatically hang a banner for hosting a 1st round series?
  19. Crossing my fingers for Baxter rather than Lawson if those are our two best choices.
  20. Certainly not as bad as mid-70s or early-90s. Not yet, at least.
  21. At this point I’d be excited if they could split the next 3 series.
  22. I’m guessing that we will pass UMD and CC in the standings before the end. They have tougher remaining schedules and hopefully UND can claw out some points this weekend. We won’t get enough points for home ice though. My guess is we’ll be 5th seed traveling to #4 for the first round.
  23. That’s just part of the fun of being an opposing team playing in Denver.
  24. But this team has way more talent than that team...which makes this year all the more frustrating. On paper, this team should have a much better record than what they have. On paper, that is.
