Certainly not ideal. But also not entirely unexpected. We've been talking for months about how there was a good chance we'd only have 1-3 dmen returning. Frisch returning would have been huge and Bast entering the portal wasn't a certainty (like Johnson). Can still be a strong group if the two portal pickups are good and then once the freshmen D get up to speed. On the plus side...with how much everyone complained about the D group this year and their poor play...maybe this is for the best.

For sure. Berry needs to get 2 D, 1 G, and maybe 1 F out of the portal. Portal is tough...the right players for our squad might not even be in the portal yet (still playing). Regardless though, Berry needs to nail those four portal picks...the results for next season hang in the balance.

For recruits only (not portals), currently we're looking at this more than likely: D - Wiebe, Livanavage, Strathmann, Benoit, Komzak F - Emerson, Perron G - Hedquist

He's like an even more skilled version of Chay Genoway.

He's switching to a four forward / one dman lineup for next season.

Seems like an odd take. Peters didn't think his style fit in well with UMD, but he thinks MSU would be a better fit? MSU doesn't exactly play a "run-n-gun" style of play...if anything I'd say they're pretty similar to UMD.

Time for Berry to pull the Spicer for Howard trade. It was his plan all along. Agreed with scpa though, he'll probably end up with a team like UMN or UM.

Agreed. Would rather not see Pecknold win a title, but he's the lesser of all those other evils (unless some other team pulls a "surprise"). I'd be all for WMU going on a run.

Case in point, from tonight's game. Steal behind the net and then pass in front for the goal. It's like the 3rd period in the 2016 title game all over again, with his sweet steal and pass to Cags for the 3-1 lead.

Pretty crazy. They had a good season too, finished 3rd in Hockey East. Even crazier...they also had 9 seniors/grads on their roster this year. Combine those with the 9 portal entrants and that is 18 of their players potentially leaving this off-season (unless a few of their SR use their 5th year).

Clarkson has a pair of players in the portal that would be good gets. The goalie Haider and forward Alex Campbell. Both only juniors so would have two years of eligibility remaining each. Campbell has put up 17 (fr), 33 (so), and 26 (jr) points, so a consistent scorer. The goalie Pavicich from UMass is intriguing too. Only a soph but solid numbers for a team that struggled more than expected this year. Northeastern has 9 players in the portal already...wow. That's 1/3 of their roster in the portal. Geez.
