  1. Yes, I believe he is rated as an "A" prospect. I remember seeing that. Excellent point above. He has NHL size just like those guys above.
  2. He will need some coaching and is a big defensive defenseman from what i have heard. Get him in with the Sioux coaching staff and he will probably develop faster than a lot of people think.
  3. There are some 3rd and 4th rounders that stick around for 4 years. 2nd round seems to becoming less likely, especially if they seemed to have peaked as college players.
  4. I do to but who do we bring in besides them to fill out the D corps?? Those are our recruits and it looks to me based on the numbers that they will be here next year.
  5. Yes it was, glad I decided to show up for the 3rd period of that game...Sioux fans giving the Goofs the jersey pop as they left the ice was priceless!!
  6. I would think they would be both coming in unless the totally unexpected happens and Finley or Chorney returns for their senior year. That would give us Lapoint, Marto, Jones, Genoway, Blood, Gleason, and Fienhage....7 D is the minimum
  7. Yeah that 5 min major against Tech was total BS. I was watching that game, it was a clean hit and was not from behind.
  8. That was already covered in the former players thread...too bad he's not wearing the A for the Sioux
  9. It happened in the 90's....I witnessed it!
  10. yeah well every program has some lean years....I can remember in the 90s the Gophers team bus was welcomed with snowballs...ha
  11. Good call.... I grew up in Mpls. and CHOSE to go to UND. My dad has roots in that area and I enjoyed my college experience. I live in Mpls. now again upon graduation in 1999. Mpls is not all roses. The traffic sucks, there is plenty of crime and it is a concrete jungle. Mpls. is my hometown, and besides the wind in the winter and a few other minor details Grand Forks is a nice place to live. Granted, there are not the job oppurtunities that there are in Mpls/St. Paul but who would expect that there would be. Dubay is an ignorant Gopher homer, and hopefully he will stay in his seat while the Sioux raise their sticks Sat night.
  12. Come on....I live in Mpls and make the drive all the time. If the roads are good it is not that bad....all interstate. Now if the Gophs get swept I can see how it would suck going back with a hangover to boot!! ha
  13. Nice comeback Fire Helmet Guy....easy to back pedal when caught in the act. Nice attempt at a cover up.
  14. It will probably be some combination of Okposo/Wheeler/Flynn/Bariball.....that is close enough
  15. The Sioux need to come out with a strong forecheck and pressure the young Gophers D. Get the crowd into the game and go from there. I think the Kaip line will be up to the challenge of shutting down Minny's top line. This is not a time to give the Gophers hope for the rest of their season. A sweep would put them in a tough spot. Let's hope it happens.
  16. I knew it had been a long time...but that is incredible! Last October....that just shows the Sioux just don't have the focus they need to close teams out at home.
  17. I think JPL plays better on the road than he does at home. I don't have any numbers to back that up but it just seems like it to me. This is a hard series to call. The Sioux desperately need a sweep but sweeping the Gophers is a tough task no matter what year it is. Play smart, physical hockey and hopefully the sticks will be raised Saturday night.
  18. Kane will not get 30 more points tnan JT....just my opinion
  19. Toews will get the Calder....I am pretty confident of that. I think the people that vote realize what a great all around player he is. If he keeps up this pace he will have around 30 goals....which would be incredible!! And we wonder why DOT is struggling without him!! VV is a decent player but night and day between him and Toews.
  20. The problem is we have a devil of a time sweeping anybody at home it seems like.
  21. that is true but it would be nice to win the McNaughton Cup!!
  22. yeah well there is plenty of reason for concern. This team was picked by I believe 9 out of 10 coaches to win the WCHA. A number one seed in the tourney is a big stepping stone. No the season is far from over but I thought that the coaches said there was no excuse for this team not to get off to a "fast" start.
  23. I am holiding out for April as well.....the big prize
  24. The cost might though!! ha
