I would love black end zones with a white or green North Dakota.

JD Pride maybe? Although he was converted to WR at Minny, he's transferring FCS to play QB. Heard Indiana State is the early favorite. Wonder what other FBS QB's are looking to transfer......

Some visit news: RB Casey Jahn will be taking an official visit on 1/21. Has offers from us, NDSU and Northern Arizona. Other visit noted at NAU on 1/14. http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=4241600

Also, per the linked post from GopherHole, it appears UND has offered a couple Minnesota kids recently: Anthony Hill from Champlin Park and Adam Bungum from Triton. See post 14 from the thread...... http://www.forums.gopherhole.com/boards/showthread.php?34156-Minnesota-Class-of-2012-Recruiting-Update

So I'm scouring Scout for anyone listed as visiting over the weekend, and there was only one that I could dig up..... LaRon Tarkington (no offer, but interest) http://recruiting.sc...c=1&nid=4312645 Also found an offer I hadn't seen anywhere..... DE Nehemiah Mitchell (Bishop O Dowd HS) Oakland, CA 6'5" 220 - no other offers http://recruiting.sc...c=1&nid=5430058
-
Alright - anyone with connections lets dig out some of these commitments. Oskie, you out there? My only connections are rivals and scout
-
Bin - why were you yelling all game???
-
My thoughts as well. As for which recruiting site is the best, I prefer Rivals because you can search specifically for UND and who they have offers out to and who they are interested in (scout doesn't let you search by FCS school, although they do list FCS schools if players have had interest from them, but you need to find them on the players individual page). Although ESPN you can also see which players UND has offers out to, the number of individuals you can find on rivals is much higher. It's all a matter of personal preference.
-
Would love to see UND get a committment from Michaelson, Pierce, and Anyanwu.
-
Couldn't agree more Sic.

I had thought that UND had offered a full as well, but reading the article it sounds like NDSU and Mankato are the only schools that have offered as of yet. That being said, I would imagine that UND will offer a full today, and let the chips fall where they may. NDSU does seem like it would be a good situation for him, with their strong team and perceived lack of returning players at the WR position (although Vraa and Gebhart should be healthy next year), but hopefully UND can dangle playing with Mollberg and helping UND establish themselves in the Big Sky as a big carrot that is appealing to him. Also, you never know academically what his interests are, so that may sway him as well. My gut would say that he will go to SU, but you never know.....

Stony Brook at (1) Sam Houston State New Hampshire at Montana State Wofford at (5) Northern Iowa Central Arkansas at (4) Montana Old Dominion at (3) Georgia Southern Maine at Appalachian State Lehigh at Towson James Madison at (2) North Dakota State I think that the games should all be close ones, with the potential exceptions being Stony Brook/SHSU and Central Arkansas/Montana. Awesome slate of games for the weekend.
-
Sounds like UND is down early 25-10. Haven't been listening or anything, so not sure what's going on.
-
ODU is leading Norfolk State 21-7 at the half. Albany is ahead 21-10 over Stony Brook near the end of the first half. Central Arkansas and Tennessee Tech scoreless early in the first.
-
EKU leads JMU 10-7 at the half. ODU/Norfolk State about to kick off I believe.
-
Yeah, I don't get that (only have basic cable) and I can't get ESPN 3 to watch online.
-
Now 7-7. Wish I had this one on TV.
-
Football talk now. JMU up 7-0 over EKU.
-
Well, there goes my attempt at a football thread that doesn't turn into a Bison/Sioux pissing contest..... Focus people.....
-
I also would like to thank the seniors for the contributions. Some very good players in this class, who will be missed.
-
I was going to say something about that. You renovate your stadium to that size, and somehow you can't put a bid in that would beat a team that averages less than UND (I believe). I know a lot of JMU fans are pretty upset about that one. If the Semi-finals are Montana - Montana State and NDSU - Georgia Southern, that would be some good football. Even though MSU was throttled by Montana last weekend, I wouldn't be surprised to see the game go the opposite direction if that happened.
-
Probably true, but so far they have behaved (and so have the Sioux fans). I'd like to keep it that way
-
I do agree that these were probably factors, but I think that they deserved to be in over Eastern Kentucky, who lost to 3 win Austin Peay. Probably a toss up whether they should have been in over JMU as well.

I figured I would start a thread about the 2011 FCS Playoffs, so anyone who would like can have a healthy discussion on the field this year. I'd like to keep this clean of smack, so when our Bison friends chime in please don't smack them just because they're Bison fans. So, here is a printable version of the bracket. http://fcsnow.com/Do...1%20bracket.pdf The four opening round games, and my picks, are as follows: Albany at Stony Brook Central Arkansas at Tennessee Tech Norfolk State at Old Dominion James Madison at Eastern Kentucky The second round on December third will look like this: Stony Brook/Albany at #1 Sam Houston State New Hampshire at Montana State Wofford at #5 Northern Iowa Tennessee Tech/Central Arkansas at #4 Montana Old Dominion/Norfolk State at #3 Georgia Southern Maine at Appalachian State Lehigh at Towson James Madison/Eastern Kentucky at #2 North Dakota State Personally, I think the championship game is Georgia Southern against Montana, with GSU coming out on top. The Griz are peaking at the right time, and I watched the GSU/Bama game this weekend and I was very impressed by the Eagles. However, SHSU, NDSU and Towson are my other favorites, although I think there are 12 or so (ie - the teams not playing in the first round games this weekend) of the 20 teams that have a very legitimate shot at winning and I wouldn't be surprised. I'm very excited for the playoffs!
