  1. For those who can't view the WDAZ story, here are the key points. Kupchella at the news conference:
  2. No, that's not what was said. Here are the key points from the WDAZ story. Kupchella at the news conference:
  3. And he was right.
  4. Do you know what you're talking about? This type of bovine scatology is what prompted me to write this.
  5. Sioux-cia provided a good account of WDAZ's story last night on the State Board of Higher Education, but it you want to see the report, go here and click on the link titled: "Board Of Higher Ed Staying Out of UND Appeal."
  6. They will be.
  7. You're probably be right, but not all Dakotans are like that. My mother's family, which is mostly Irish Catholic and Swedish protestant (there's a mix for ya!) loved to argue. My grandfather, the Swede, would take the opposite side of what he really believed just for the sake of starting an argument. My father's family and my wife's family are the exact opposite. They'd rather suffer in silence than rock the boat. Unfortunately, for my wife, her husband and two kids got my mother's genes.
  8. A colleague sent me this story. I thought it was most appropriate for this forum.
  9. Google is your friend.
  10. Just go right ahead and shatter another one of my illusions.
  11. Another great post, Sioux-cia.
  12. There are a lot of things that North Dakota's political leaders haven't done that politicians in Florida did. For all I know, that might be part of the strategy. I suspect that once UND completes the NCAA appeals process, we'll have a lot better idea of what UND, the Board of Higher Education and state government intends to do.
  13. Could you please point out some examples of those posts? I must've missed them.
  14. My friend has a great deal of respect for my opinion on this issue. He undertands that I know far more about it than he does. By the time we finished our conversation, he understood my point of view. Did I change his mind? I don't know because I didn't ask him. Regardless, we're still friends because we can agree to disagree on matters of opinion. I have no illusions that anything that happens now or in the future will ever change your mind on this issue. You have made this abundantly clear ever since you joined this board and began repeating the same points over and over and over again like a deaf, brainwashed parrot with tunnel vision.
  15. I'd be surprised if he says anything about the issue before the NCAA appeals process is completed.
  16. Me either. I thought we'd all decided on the Hopping Cotton Tails.
  17. OUCH!!! That's gonna leave a mark!
  18. I think many of us would tear our hair out because it would make absolutely no sense. It would mean that the NCAA has once again shifted the goal posts for the express purpose of singling out UND. It would also probably mean that prominent attorneys were lining up to represent the university.
  19. You know, this part of McFeely's column is pretty freakin' hilarious. Up until Aug. 12, the news media considered Kupchella the browbeaten university president who would have changed the name if not for evil bully millionaire Ralph Engelstad. But the moment Kuchella shows where he's really at on the issue, he's suddenly transformed into Siouxper Man.
  20. Which is as it should be.
  21. So SiouxSports.com = St. Paul Pioneer Press? Jim will be so happy!
  22. I thought "gay" meant "happy."
  23. You're missing the point. What I'm saying is that if the shoe was on the other foot, McFeely would have no problem whatsoever understanding NDSU's (i.e. Chapman's) anger at being unfairly labeled a racist institution.
