  1. I don't know, but I've been waiting for graffiti-resistant medallions for ages. I'm sick of graffiti artists vandalizing my medallions.
  2. Vaht?
  3. Good idea. The leaves are already starting to pile up. GrahamKracker could bite each one of them.
  4. That's what I've always suspected. Thanks for confirming it.
  5. Is this available on DVD or VHS?
  6. I talked to a long-time friend of mine who's a North Dakota native, a UND alumnus and an avid Fighting Sioux fan who lives in the Twin Cities. He'd read yesterday's article on the Sioux name controversy in USA Today and called me to discuss it. He told me that he didn't think there was any point in UND taking the NCAA to court. He thought that if UND couldn't make a deal with the tribes to continue using the Sioux name, then the name should be changed. As a result of that conversation, I realize that there's something of a disconnect between those of us who live in Grand Forks and work for UND and some of those who don't. 7. We all know that NDSU would roll over like a puppy to have its tummy rubbed if the NCAA found a reason to hang the "hostile and abusive" label on it.
  8. Who's we Bison fan? You got something in your pocket?
  9. Facts is facts.
  10. I think a judge telling the NCAA that its policy is unfairly discriminatory, arbitrary and capricious, and in violation of the First Amendment would do wonders for the NCAA's policy.
  11. Here's a link where you can e-mail the INCH editors. And it's "hostile and abusive," not "hostile and offensive."
  12. At the risk of subjecting myself to hostility and abuse, I'll post links to my USCHO articles on T.J. Oshie and his father, Tim. Making All The Right Moves North Dakota's T.J. Oshie A Rising Star Caught In The Controversy NCAA American Indian Mascot Policy Impacts Father And Son
  13. Hakstol said yesterday that captains wouldn't be selected for another week or so.
  14. Please. The dog is being treated as an oppressed, enslaved beast of burden. You never see him getting any free food out of the deal. The Taco John's dog and the AFLAC duck should start a class action suit.
  15. I was too offended to notice.
  16. So I'm reading a story on the Web about the NCAA denying UND's appeal and I notice off to the side that there are links for "Native American costumes." I click on the link and find this, this, this and this. One of the costumes is listed as "Sassy Squaw." And here's what it says about another one: I can certainly see now that UND is one of the last great bastions of racial stereotyping.
  17. Whiplash is aiding and abetting. Stop trying to rationalize his behavior.
  18. Of course he's stealing. Think of the commercial. A young woman buys a burrito and it flies out of her hand and on to the street when her jerk boyfriend hits a bump in the road. A Taco John's employee gives Whiplash a new burrito to deliver to her. So where did he get this burrito? Did he pay for it out of his own pocket because he felt sorry for the young woman? Yeah, right. I'm sure Taco John's employees make so much money they can afford to buy new burritos or tacos for everyone who drops one. So, obviously, the employee is stealing from the restaurant. And don't forget that after delivering the new burrito, Whiplash engages the cops in a high-speed chase. Do you think a monkey with such low moral values really cares about whether or not the food he's delivering is stolen? Whiplash is a hard-core criminal, a menace to society. It's no wonder that Diggler thinks he's cool.
  19. Ha! There's no such thing as a free lunch. Somebody's paying for that food Whiplash gives away. Food doesn't grow on trees, you know.
  20. You must have been thinking of the Frito Bandito.
  21. That's it. I'm putting in an outhouse tomorrow. Ma can't cope with all this plumbing trickery.
  22. Win the lawsuit, establish a legal right to use the name and then, as Kupchella discussed today, attempt to start the dialogue with the tribes. If the only dialogue the tribes are willing have revolves around UND changing the name, then end the discussion, change the name and move on. Some will soon discover that being equal isn't all it's cracked up to be.
  23. Hey! Leave my mom out of this!
  24. I didn't write it to impress you. You are beyond reason.
