I'm glad that the Sioux are playing MSU-Mankato coming off the big sweep of Minnesota and an off week. There should be plenty of players who remember that the Mavs were a game away from ending UND's season last year and how hard they had to work to prevent that from happening. They shouldn't have a problem getting fired up for this series.

UND's exhibition game against the US Under-18 Team has nothing to do with its nonconference schedule. Why is it even being mentioned? Don't look now, but St. Lawrence, Quinnipiac and Bemidji State are having pretty good seasons. Regardless of whether anyone thinks they are "cupcakes," UND's wins over them will help in the PairWise ranking (assuming those teams continue to play well).

A few years from now, Frank will be saying that the Sioux sweep of 2007 doesn't count because Minnesota had five players at the World Juniors.

They didn't really show much much of anything. A lot of the report was Franklin Sage talking about why BRIDGES gave the award to the NCAA.

WDAZ and KVLY did stories on it. The award to the NCAA wasn't presented during the banquet. I believe it was presented at a separate ceremony at the Multicultural Center.

UND was fortunate to have played Minnesota at this point of the season. I believe the Gophers were a little to comfortable with their lead in the WCHA and what they've accomplished up to this point. The Sioux are playing in desparation mode. The Gophers' injuries and the adjustment to the loss of Hirsch were factors, too. And UND's DOT line couldn't have picked a better time to play its best series of the season. Can UND keep it going? Can Minnesota return to mid-season form before the playoffs start? Those are the questions yet to be answered.

It's almost like having Allstate for our insurance company.
