    Yotes VS Hawks

I think I recall hearing the Yotes switched over to a 3-4 defense and I think Ill St. uses a 3-4 also. I always remember both of those teams playing the 4-3.
  2. No dog in this fight, but William Hyslop was a generous contributor to the University of North Dakota giving thousands of acres of land in Canada and the Red River Valley, stock, and millions in cash. It looks like the naming could have been tied to an addition that was completed to the structure. Hyslop was a generous contributor to the University of North Dakota. In January 1980, he gifted to the University over 4,100 acres of land in the Red River Valley appraised at $5.2 million. Previous gifts included over $153,000 in corporate stock, as well as 2,000 acres of land in the United States and Canada. Hyslop died on May 30, 1981 in Racine, Wisconsin. Upon his death, the University was the beneficiary of an additional $2 million dollars. The UND Fieldhouse and its impending addition were named in Hyslop's honor on July 17, 1981. I think the "lack"/"no"/"overdue" recognition is a bit over hyped. Mr. Pollard was in initial class for induction into the UND Hall of Fame. FYI - I also found Hajdu kind of annoying. But, I have not though about him much since he has moved on.

    SIU Predictions

I think Lief is a hell of a player - great 2nd and 3rd effort. We should see more of Lief!!!
  4. I absolutely agree, UND does receives money from Midco and they do a great job. Win/Win - UND/Midco.
  5. It kind of depends on what you are looking for... I have both ESPN+ and Midco Plus. ESPN+ picks up the Midco broadcast. ESPN+ typically doesn't produce the games. If is in on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN3 it is typically ESPN produced. I like the MidcoPlus service because I am from South Dakota I enjoy watching all the local teams and action. And Midco does a great job. I am always impressed with the production quality it is outstanding and Alex H. is bombtastic (got that from my kids, I guess its a thing).
  6. I love the show and the passion that you guys have... I think a great little segment would be to do a pod cast with old UND football alumni once or twice a year. They don't have be the names that we all know. But, just football alumni living in the area and what are they doing now, an old story or two from past games, and what the football program means to them and the difference it has made to them. Anyway, you do a great job and I enjoy it very much. Thank You.
  7. Well, the UND offence is bad. The last 2:00 minutes of offense did not make any sense. Lot's so film to review.
  8. Just a reminder about the ends justifies the means crowd. Terry Morgan, another anti-nickname organizer, said Friday that opponents had a "signed affidavit" from a witness who allegedly heard the damning quote but that he'd have to find it. The Herald could not reach him Saturday to see if he found the document. Days later he was contacted and admitted that there was no affidavit and he rationalized all of it as "Ends justifies the means". All it takes is one person and the New York Time will be here again - setting the record for the nation by taking only one side of the story and printing lies. I live in the cities and same stuff is going on right now.. Ends/Means no discussion.
  9. You would think that the school would be very careful with this... we have seen that original intent and receiving extensive permissions can very much be twisted and maligned and retracted in the future. The track record from "Honoring" to "Appropriating or Using" is very well documented. I would pass.
  10. Anyone else nervous about the middle - NG and Inside Linebacker.. They have to be stout playing in the MVFC. If UND can't stop the power running game up the middle it is going to be a long season.
  11. I think the other big thing is the I-29 record against the NCC schools. They are currently 4-5 and if they pull off two wins at Omaha it would be a winning record for the season.
  12. You made me laugh... I am trying to remember who said that?
  13. I got mine today - I live in the Cities.
  14. Maybe its just me, but the back to back games has really brought a lot of intensity to all the games this year despite the lack of crowds. Can you image the game environment with that type of intensity on the court and in the stands. Last nights game was between a below 500 team and a team without a win. It was an intense game on the court. In addition, I kind of like the players and benches chirping.. The basketball on the court has been intense this year.
  15. LOL - I think that I said the exact same thing.. wow - that was Jr. High stuff
  16. I forgot to add the ASUN schools that are football - 5 schools, 1 FBS and 1 non-scholarship: - *Kennesaw State, *North Alabama, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Central Arkansas - * currently Big South The 6th schools being mentioned are: Austin Peay (OVC again) and Tennessee at Chattanooga (SoCon). NOTE: Update OVC to have 7 schools. I was already counting Murray St as gone.. opps.
  17. ASUN announcement tomorrow. It sounds like Central Arkansas, Jacksonville St. and Eastern Kentucky are set to join. Two of those teams are OVC and they both play football. OVC with 6 football and 10 total: Do they look to Western Illinois Are conferences looking at Murray St. - Missouri Valley was looking closely last time. MVC with 5 + 1 NS football and 10 total - do they sit tight or are they proactive: If they make a move is it Murray St. and who is the pair? Or are they thinking they may lose a school. If Murray St joins... do they start football with an autobid and YSU as an associate member for 7 schools. It gets rid of the Dakota schools travel and having to compete with COA schools. It would reduce costs. You have to remember that the Big East is going to 11 teams in 2021 with UCON joining. Does it cause a shift in private basketball schools from Big East to A-10 to MVC a potential players would by Loyola of Chicago. Summit with 5 football and 10 total with St. Thomas coming on line next year. Does Western Illinois at look at OVC. Smaller budgets for football might be more competitive and lower costs. Does ORU look south again to the Southland conference after all the shifting toward to WAC. Do they need St. Thomas to think about scholarship football sooner than expected and start talking to UNC? or Augustana - Is this what drives Summit to start football. Southland with 6 football and 8 total - is kind of on life support at this point. They need everyone to sit tight. Then take a look at other FCS schools and they will need call ups from D-II. WAC with 8 +1 FBS football and 13 total (not including Chicago St.): How stable is the Big Sky with a new Southwest conference WAC in its back yard. Are Northern Arizona and Weber St looking to join S. Utah and the other Utah reclassifying school (Dixie St.). Is UNC nervous about potential Big Sky changes are they talking with the Summit League.
  18. I see SDSU, ORU, NDSU as better than UND. USD and UND are close, might give USD a slight advantage. So, I see UND fighting for 4 or 5. I have them in this place simply because of absolute lack of shooting. This is a poor shooting team.
  19. Kicking has been a problem for a couple of years now. I hope it changes soon.
  20. Agree, major problem for Summit League. - ORU games were available.
  21. They can't shoot. They need a shooter to open things up..
  22. That could be.. Augie was mentioned in tweets by the same source that has been breaking the WAC news and SUU and Texas schools. He seems to have a good sources on the topics.
  23. I surprised on the steal by Sims with 3 seconds left that the call was NOT two and the ball. It looked like he had a clear path to the basket.
  24. Youngstown has always seemed like they are looking for football success to push the school profile. So, they would be looking for the next step up for the football program. I always assumed that they would be the MAC because is has 6 Ohio based schools. But, they can't afford the MAC and FBS football. So, I think they are happy with the high level of football within the MVFC. Plus, I believe that Youngstown was already in the OVC from 1981 to 1987. But, you do raise an interesting point about OVC and they could move back. A driver for this could be the current financial hardships many states are going to have and state funding could be reduced. So, yes I can see the OVC could be in play for both WIU and YSU to replace EK and JSU. The next couple of years are going to be interesting.
