  1. I like Notre Dame but they have been overrated so many years. Hopefully they aren’t overrated this year.
  2. Sorry I forget - Is this the first game with the new coach? It will be interesting if we see any changes. Let’s hope for a great season!
  3. I have learned here that people are pretty dug into what they believe. So, changing opinions isn’t my goal. I do feel somewhat obligated to state facts as I see them. I do try to look things up to try and verify. There have been numerous posts here that indicate that this wasn’t a fair election. So far, virtually nothing proven in court. So far, most can be explained. So far, misinformation spreads. the mud slinging crosses both parties. Personally, I suspect there might be more to the Russia story but again, how do I know. There are lots of “yah buts” that seem to justify Trump’s behavior. I can see why a case could be made that it is hypocritical. But to dismiss bad behavior by stating it is par for the course is understandable but questionable in my mind.
  4. Ok - my take on Russia and Trump. How am I to know? I somewhat will reserve judgment to see if a new administrator looks into what happened - maybe nothing. Indications are it won’t be looked at again. But to dismiss Trump’ s behavior by saying Russia is questionable in my mind. Again, just one man’s opinion.
  5. I just don’t believe the election was rigged. Tried to keep an open mind. Too bad about 40% of the country will always say it was rigged. That’s ok I guess but to have our president persist in the unproven conspiracy only confirms my fear he is unfit and dangerous to our country.
  6. Here we are approaching three weeks after the election. Dozens of cases in court of election bad stuff thrown out. Lots of stuff accused but not proven in court. We will see next week if the Venezuelan and China attorney case sticks. it appears there are no opinions that the election was rigged changed here.
  7. Would someone please tell me where the stock market is going? Specially, where will it be one year from now. thanks in advance
  8. This is the type of thing that makes you distrust politicians I was intrigued when I read an earlier tweet from Trump saying that over a million more mail in ballets were counted in Pennsylvania than were mailed out. Turns out wrong election comparison but that incorrect information is now out there and is still being quoted. https://www.politicususa.com/2020/11/28/trump-uses-data-from-wrong-election-to-claim-massive-voter-fraud-in-pennsylvania.html
  9. In the current situation, I am looking at the courts to decide which networks or parties have been telling more of the truth. I don’t believe that misinformation is new to either party or cable news station. I remember growing up where there were only three tv stations. Never questioned any of the information. Things have definitely changed. I always have my radar up now as I watch or hear. I believe trump has taken things to an unacceptable level and has to be replaced. Have said many times here that I believe he is a threat to our democracy. He continues to lie. He has convinced a big part of the country in conspiracy after conspiracy. He has consolidated powers in himself so even respectful Republicans are afraid to speak up. IMHO Trump is not a statesman. And has done a disservice to the country. Though I agree with many of his policies. Personal loyalty is demanded by Trump over the country. We can’t have that.
  10. I used to think the Supreme Court would take all election cases - now not sure because there has been no accusations of fraud much less evidence presented to date. (according to the federal judge)
  11. I thought Biden gained in White educated males and Trump gained with less educated white males. sorry I posted this. I don’t like breaking down voters like this.
  12. https://www.npr.org/2020/11/18/935730100/how-biden-won-ramping-up-the-base-and-expanding-margins-in-the-suburbs this article seems to be pretty neutral. found this interesting about Philadelphia: “Biden actually won Philadelphia by thousands fewer votes than Clinton. But he more than made up for it in the suburbs. In just four counties — Montgomery, Delaware, Chester and Bucks — Biden improved on the 2016 margin by about 100,000 votes.”
  13. As said here often. Many people do not love Trump and many love him. Very polarizing man. IMHO that helped drive many to vote. Many first time voters. Most of the campaigning was done in swing states. To me, again imho, additionally explains why high turnout happened in swing states. I am not surprised with the number of votes cast in this election.
  14. Seems like it’s now guilty until proven innocent. Prove you got 80 million votes. Not trying to be a jerk. I wonder if the court system thing isn’t the end game. Almost seems like it’s more of a public relations thing. Again, just observing what is going on in the court. Maybe something will stick. Idk one consolation for Trump is that there were probably more in attendance at his inauguration than Biden’s scaled back inauguration.
  15. Can you imagine Rudy presenting his case to the scotus?
  16. The argument that it is ok because someone else did it previously or it’s not ok because it wasn’t ok because of prior events seem to be made often.
  17. I am interested in why Rudy seemingly refuses to claim fraud when he gets in front of a judge. He has had a few chances. By the way the definition of fraud from wiki. Search Fraud In law, fraud is intentional deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain, or to deprive a victim of a legal right.
  18. Has it been proved that there are instances of more mail in ballots returned than mailed out? Seems pretty easy to discover.
  19. Now some pro Trump folks are advocating Republicans to boycott the Georgia senate runoff election. I question the strategy.
  20. source Washington post concerning voter turnout in 2020 “Records from 1980 have been surpassed in 41 states. Another 3 and D.C. are projected to reach at least 40 year highs once all votes are tallied. Only 6 states do not look like they will end up with record-breaking turnout.“ looks like turnout was quite high almost everywhere. Texas had a record by over 5% the article said. sorry - I have trouble with linking articles.
  21. From raw story today. “In a ruling released on Friday, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit Judge Stephanos Bibas shot down the campaign’s appeal of its Pennsylvania lawsuit seeking to nullify the state’s entire election results. In his ruling, Bibas chastised the Trump campaign not only for failing to present evidence, but for failing to even make specific allegations of voter fraud. “Free, fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy,” Bibas wrote. “Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here.”
  22. I think there are a few more court hearings going on today. Should be interesting. idk. I am not surprised about the number of votes in the election. I thought it was expected. Was the percentage around 60%? Edited: I believe here are the numbers Turnout statistics Election Voting eligible population (VEP) % Turnout of VEP 2008 229,945,000 57.1% 2012 235,248,000 54.9% 2016 230,931,921 59.2% 2020 239,247,182 66.4% - 72.1%
  23. Politicians lie all the time. ugh Some more/much more than others
  24. Should we grant a president the authority to unpardon?
