  1. In theory, yes. However, I don't think they will be able to pass the new and improved version of it. Thus we still win.
  2. School starts fully on the 21st. What could be better than going to a Thurs night game and going out and partying after it?
  3. As long as UND continues to run shuttles and they don't suffer a huge overload, everything should be fine. Riding a bus packed with Sious fans is a great way to start gameday. Plus they drop you off at the door and you get out of the Fritz lot a lot earlier than you do at the Al. Another advantage is that the shuttles don't leave until the game is over. Fans leaving early has been a problem recently, due to the type of competition. By forcing fans to either pay 5 extra bucks or stay till the end of the game, maybe it will increase attendance through the whole game. I will never forget watching fans start leaving at the end of the 3rd in 2005 when we led UNO by only 19 or so. The atmosphere went flat and we lost the game. Maybe this will prevent future results.
  4. I think you just hit the nail on the head. They got kicked off the team because their actions were an black stain on the U of M football program. They broke their coaches trust and he took action. While kicking them out of school before the criminal case is concluded would be moronic, kicking them off the team was warrented.
  5. My opinions which don't mean squat: 1. Both the Heraldo and the Fraud suck because the editorials are always against what most people believ to be true. The writing might be ok but the editorials suck big time. 2. Fargo is a bigger version of GF. While I wouldn't mind living in either, they both fail to use their resources wisely. 3. Bismarck is the place to be in ND. While Minot might have better views, Bismarck makes the most out of what they have. They have less people than Fargo but offer so much more than Fargo does. This being done without a major university which is very suprising.
  6. Regardless, if they get rid of baseball, it would be a great sport to pick up. At least it would draw people to watch.
  7. I know it is happening. Some people don't really believe it, though. When the best players in the state somehow all move to schools with good programs around their junior years, you know something is going on. I think this will make these schools take extra caution when doing these activities. You don't want to end up getting banned from the post season. As for the Langdon situation, it was a lapse of judgement by the coach and the Munich parents. Now it might end up that Munich has no team to play with and Langdon can't go to state. Talk about some price to pay.
  8. The only reason it is a big deal is that these players were still under another co-op I think when the meeting took place. No matter if the parents wanted to or not, a meeting under these circumstances is obviously a violation of some NDHSAA rule. It also was a big deal because one of the players being recruited was the satr player for the second place team in the district. So any little wrong doing will be looked at closely in that instance. As I said before, the time doesn't fit the crime but they are setting a precedent for future teams. Maybe this will make Mandan and other private schools a bit nervous if they are indeed recruiting as some people claim.
  9. There is a pretty good discussion about this over on ND Preps. I think the punishment is too much, but they are trying to make a point. There were rule violations, no matter if intended or not, and a price must be payed. I think this is the first time I have ever agreed with the NDHSAA in my life and that has me scared. They rank right up there with the NCAA in my book.
  10. Good post! This is the type of post I think many of us have been wanting to read for a while. Without naming names, you manage to create (at least in my mind) a picture of why Lennon might be having issues with Buning. You state it is from some booster. Even though I do not know him nor can I verify he exists, I am more apt to believe you than if you gave no information about him at all. I now understand some of the issues I have been wondering about. If the first couple posts on this subject were written like this, we wouldn't have 5 pages of arguing back and forth.
  11. Dude, I agree with all the other things you said. He was, however, calling people jealous. Just facts.
  12. Not to start anything but look at post 14 again. I think the word envy makes an apperance which is the same as jealous.
  13. I don't know when the State tourney is but if that is the reason, it will still be a problem. Even on the last day of the tourney on Sat, there is 3 games played. So maybe sandwich a UND game between the 5th place and 3rd place games? Sounds odd.
  14. I also am wondering that. I see that both series with afternoon games are Saturday-Sunday series. I don't remember us playing a lot of them. I know it is common to play Sunday games in the afternoon which forces you into a Sat. afternoon because you don't want the short turnaround that comes from playing Sat. night. But why Sunday at all?
  15. My question is why was the info posted on here anyways? If the problem is to be handled behind closed doors, then posting it makes no sense. I had very little interest in the internal handlings of the Athletic Department. However, I now am very curious. I might start asking around about these issues. Somehow I doubt the AD wants a bunch of people suddenly interested in its business.
  16. I guess I am in the camp of giving him the benefit of the doubt. I wish we could get proof but I understand why the people with "information" would choose not to reveal it. It is like aliens and the government. If I worked for the gov and saw aliens, I would like the world to know. But without proof, nobody will. So it is a little hard to fully believe a conspiracy with no tangible info.
  17. Lets start a poll. Would you rather know little "inside" information and be a normal human OR know some "inside" information and be a disturbed individual?
  18. I feel a lot better now that I have seen in confirmed on the news.
  19. Glad to know it. I am reluctant to fully jump on either side, but for the sake of the program and the university, I hope both sides can figure out a way to continue the growth of UND. I would hate to see all of the recent strides made go for nothing.
  20. I hope you are correct. If he takes the MSU job, it will be a major stepping stone for his career. If he could turn the program around in a couple of years, he would be seeing offers from some FBS schools. However, his gain would hurt UND in a bad way. If he decides to stay, which I hope he does, we might count our lucky stars that the program is in this transition period, one that is a major fulcrum for future years. His loyalty to the program during this time might be the key, and should not go unrewarded.
  21. How much clout do the boosters hold? If all of the coaches are unhappy, would we not be seeing some pressure put on the Athletic Department? So far I have heard nothing about Buning's work until this situation. If things are as bad as they sound, I would think the boosters, being loyal to the coaches and the programs, would be pressuring Kupchella to make a move. The fact that I have heard nill coming from anyone makes me have my doubts. It is far easier to replace an average AD than replace good, loyal coaches. If his skills are lacking, than by all means let him go. If it is an issue over control, however, you can't fault a man for doing his job.
  22. I guess I would like to know what some of the issues are between the AD and the coaches. What is Buning doing with his power? Holding it over the heads of everyone? Or is it like someone else said where Buning maybe doesn't let the coaches have the extra give that they once had in matters? My thinking might differ if we lose Dale and Hak in the next couple of years, but I think Buning is doing a good job on the public side of the job. Trying to play the bison, pushing for D1, and getting publicity for the university. RT would have drug the program down in some of these key issues if he were to stay. I am not sure what Rob Bollinger would have did, but I think Buning is doing a good job as of now. Maybe a bit later on down the road, I might think differently.
  23. Good example but it isn't really accurate. The NFC Central included Tampa Bay and was used when the NFC only had 3 divisions. When they added teams and split it to four divisions, I could see why they would want to change the name as well. It is a different division than the Central was. Changing the name from AA to FCS is only changing the name. Nothing else changed to make the change more practical. A better example would be if the NHL just changed its name to the Hockey Super League. People would still call it the NHL because nothing but the name has changed. However, if they merged with a pro league from Canada and created a new league called the HSL, I would see no reason for anyone to call it the NHL because it is a different entity. This is not what the NCAA did however. They did the former.
  24. Now I don't know if a lot of Sioux fans thought that IAA applied to all sports, but if they did, then wow! It is not exactly rocket science here. If a recruit or other fans can't comprehend the difference, then you have to start wondering how they are going to make a living if they can't figure that simple fact out.
  25. What if the Ralph changed its name to Gate City Arena or some other name? Would you call it the Ralph or use its proper name? I guess I would call it the Ralph cause thats how I first learned it. You can't expect everyone to call things their correct name if they change it. If some people want to call it AA instead of FCS, then they should. Why some people are obsessed with following what the NCAA deemed acceptable is beyond me.
