I think it was Spiewak's freshman year in the playoffs and Commodore took a stupid penalty. Spiewak scored a shorty that pretty much clinched the game. If I remember right Commie said the plan was to have Speiwak score the shortie or something like that.

You can always tell a team that's coached by a class act.

But our high penalties nights are from playing the Gophers and Dumbver. It seems Hext got 12 minutes for laying on the ice and being jumped on from Ryan Stoa. It seems Vandevelde got 14 minutes for being speared and crosschecked by Testuide. I'm not saying we're angels, but if you're on the ice when the other team starts gooning it up at the end of the game you're going to have some penalties whether you're angels or not. How did they get these penalties, that's what's important. Plus those ten minutes they throw out there at the end of the game can be pretty misleading as well.

You're right, jumping a guy from behind which results in an season ending injury is normal. The gophers have never been angels, but no this is unprecedented. But the coach has gone on and said it's just sticking up for the other players.

Yep, can't argue with that logic. I don't find it surprising that the elite teams are also the higher penalized teams. After all, everyone gets pumped up to play a Minnesota or, dare I say, North Dakota. That winds up with many teams considering us their #1 rival (I think Mankato State considers that, while we don't reciprocate the respect). During these high emotion games stuff happens. And despite what the teacher said, it only takes one to create a fight. But what's happening with the Minnesota team is unprecedented. They've definitely got major problems this year and blaming the other teams makes Donna look like a fool.

No wonder why Donna's got his panties in a wad. His team's getting called for the penalties they commit.

Funny how it's always about the money, except when it's not. That is when the Sioux should host something due to their record it's about the money (football playoff games come to mind). But in this case we can't get another regional because money's not important.

It sure isn't a surprise but it sure is disappointing that the league has given up all hints of integrity.
