I liked the old two referee system more better. At the time they said that we'd get consistency with the one referee. It didn't happen.

A further thought, the State's Attorney had a case against Toews and Oshie. They didn't have to charge Bina with a bogus crime to show that they were doing their job.

I liked it when they had a full 20 Minute sudden death period. I'm thinking that would be hard to reinstitute due to TV. If you still had a tie, you deserved it. If it goes to a shootout then in my opinion they should give partial credit for losses in OT like the NHL.

I agree that the authorities were in a no-win situation, but when you're in a no-win situation it's better to not make it worse.

I realize that the police are in a no win situation in a case like this. Either way they are going to be criticized. However the chief of police meeting with the team isn't a big deal. It could be PR or it could be something he wanted to say. The fact that the States Attorney took this case to court reflects very poorly on them.

Maybe there's a crime there, but it sure as heck wasn't "helping them escape." Pretty embarrassing for the States Attorney's office in my opinion.
