We’re again reduced to cheering against the Bison in order to salvage our own season.  And yet, the loudest voices will proclaim NDSU a failure if they lose the semifinal or national title game and proclaim UND as the true “state champion.”  Regardless of what happens next in the playoffs, it’s now impossible to argue that UND will have had a more successful season than NDSU.

Agreed, however wouldn't you agree that beating Moo U is a step forward. Heck I wasn't sure if I would ever see it happen again in my lifetime.

So, If am reading you right: 75% of the FCS fans would trade with UND, meaning they'd accept a 7-5 season and a traditional first round exits every year?

IMO he is saying trade for UND's facilities, fans, legacy, and upward projectory - we won numerous NCC championships, the Great West and Big Sky - a majority of schools have never won a conference championship. SDSU NEVER won the NCC.

    Bubba? Fire?

Nice - making fun of the head coach on a public forum - setting an excellent example. I thought we had plenty of those handling that responsibility - or perhaps it's just one under six different names.

"Bo Belquist says he's coming back to UND for another season"

He's just repeating what he said on the record a few weeks ago. Of course things change but some on here were wringing their hands needlessly.

So any players announce any offers from UND?

Based on interviews it seems UND staff puts a lot of thought into who they offer including how they will fit in with the culture. That's not something that happens over the phone within a few days. IMO they super selective which comes back to building a culture vs building for one year. See Missouri State.

NDSU is struggling to raise money, why else would they schedule an emergency meeting to get more members. Lots of people want to be a fan but not many willing to throw down extra $$$$

Like the old days when the priest would gather the men in the church basement and say 'No one leaves until we raise enough money to pay off the morgage". This really happened back in the day.

To my eye, three guys going elsewhere with their Covid year, two guys who seldom saw the field, a guy who's done with his degree (as a junior!), and Ocansey.

It ain't tOSU losing an 11-1 as a starter QB, but thank you for your interest in North Dakota Athletics. :)

Agreed, most moving on with life, as student-athletes should. Not much damage control yet but every time I open this thread I'm holding my breath.

  8. Via X (Twitter) it's easy to see that every school is losing grad transfers, and soon underclassmen athletes to the portal again this year. It's silly to fuel panic attacks on fan sites. UND might need to change its mindset on how to recruits through the portal, which seems to be they are very selective, but it's the new reality.

Back to UND. Anybody else find it odd that we haven’t heard any of the “Covid extra year” guys say they are coming back? I’m starting to doubt Bo coming back. You just think we would have heard by now if he was.

He already said it in public in an interview. He is a student athletic with much more on his plate than social media posts.

Grad transferring means they are focused on their graduate level education. They transfer based on where the best grad program is that fits their needs. No need to black helicopter it.

I never read/heard any comment from Schuster regarding his plans after this season. Any link/source on his comments or specifics of the "mutual decision"  on his departure?

There was a TV interview more than a month ago where he said "My plan is to return next year." Of course things change.

What is the inside scoop on Schuster??

Was he being a good dude thinking of the program and the QB’s that would transfer if he stayed or was he told he would not start next year???

No way anyone here is privy to those conversations. Based on his personality I would guess the "good dude" conjecture.

    Agreed.

Although understandable, there's no way to spin Kilty entering. The Ocansey one you can try to, but we'll see. Spin would be, I'm not surprised a CB left, because although unproven, it's definitely the most talented potential defensive unit in 2024. So much of how I feel about CB going into next year relies on Hembry returning. (w/ Hembry there would be 5 guys who would expect to be on the 2-Deep -- now there would be four). I'd be fine if the 2-Deep is Hembry / Bluiett w/ Dixon / Bishop backing up.

Is a spin needed for Kilty? One year left and he obviously had P5 schools whispering to him.

    Yo Yo iit’s Mexico.

We are only like 5 of the 180 FCS teams to make the playoffs 4/5 last years or whatever that stat is.

Let’s remember without Bubba and Danny, we could and probably would be much, much worse.

Would that be fun?  Nope. This team gives us more than something to cheer for every year.

We don’t pay our head coach 350k plus and our assistans 150 k plus like NDSMoo and SDSMoo.  Those are top, top programs.  We are a top program.  More than 5 people need to get their checkbooks out like the Moos.

Sadly at UND, those numbers plus go to hockey.  Ever seen what our basketball assistants get paid?  Pathetic.

To most of the haters on here, take a look at the posts, your spelling aint so good.

As Dabo Sweeney at Clemson recently said to a critic, “You are welcome to apply”.  Good luck.

I am also guessing recruiting to the frozen tundra also aint so easy.  I remember walkiing to class and had blurry vision.  Everytihing was damn frozen and it took me half the class to figure out one of my lenses had fallen out.

Get your checkbooks out and support the team and coaches.

Thanks for contributing - prepare to get trashed by the usual suspects.
