  1. Sioux Football Insider just tweeted this:
  2. For whatever reason, it seems that UNO's football attendance really went downhill once they joined the MIAA. They averaged 7500 per game as recently as 2007.
  3. I think Brekke in particular has the potential to greatly improve upon his freshman year scoring. He showed flashes of being capable of becoming a 15 ppg scorer this year, but struggled with fouls and early season injuries.
  4. Highlights of tonight's game: http://www.fightingsioux.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=760177&db_oem_id=13500
  5. Heard a rumor today regarding a possible incoming transfer from a Big East school.
  6. UND does need to develop more of a bench. My hope is that Wilmer will be a big help next year, and that incoming freshman Gentry and/or Goodman/Haugen can provide perimeter depth. And it goes without saying that we can't afford any of the current freshmen to run into any off-the-court problems or academic issues because all five are crucial to this program's immediate future.
  7. Well, one of us is delusional, I'll grant you that. So long as I'm on the opposite side of an issue from you, I feel pretty good about things.
  8. Agreed. It has already been a successful season--far more successful than virtually anyone could have predicted. Winning, or even just keeping the game against AFA competitive would just be icing on the cake.
  9. Air Force has an RPI of 108 so this will be a huge challenge for UND. The UNC game could be something of a barometer, as UNC has a slightly higher RPI than AFA and UND lost that game by 18.
  10. NDSU has a decent young nucleus, but needs a point guard, some quickness on the perimeter and will really miss Tveidt. UND at least arguably has more young talent right now.
  11. It wouldn't surprise me if Lennon hired Behrns.
  12. In some ways, this doesn't surprise me. UNO has a huge problem with being non-compliant with Title IX. There are more women students than men, but men receive 66% of the scholarship money. And they don't even have women's hockey (how can a school with men's hockey get away with that these days?). They were always a lawsuit waiting to happen.
  13. UND lost 74-66. I believe this is Roebuck's first losing season as a college coach.
  14. UND down 39-30 at the half. I guess Chicago State is just a bad matchup for the Sioux this year. Hard to believe considering CSU has virtually the identical personnel as last year, when UND swept the season series. CSU only plays seven players, so hopefully UND's depth can wear them down in the second half.
  15. It's going to be interesting to see whether Gentry and/or Benton red-shirt next year. It seems that both have very nice athleticism, which is something UND could use more of. On the other hand, red-shirting would mean they'd have four chances at post-season play rather than three. I have nothing to base this on, but I kind of look for Gentry to play right away, and back up Huff. Not sure about Benton, but it seems he could potentially back up Schuler nicely.
  16. I heard about that, also. Hard to believe some tv announcers apparently don't do basic homework before they call a game.
  17. Hard to believe that USD pulled this one out considering their leading scorer (Westbrook) is injured and didn't play, and they were just 3-15 from the free throw line!
  18. Not sure. I guess the attendance for the UVU-USD men's game was decent last night, but with no local teams playing tonight, it's likely going to be really bad.
  19. Championship game tomorrow is apparently being televised on fox college sports at 8:30.
  20. I think that if possible, the tournament should have been in GF or Vermillion. I'm pretty sure there wouldn't have been any games with 50 people there. And that's not an exaggeration, from what I've been told about some of the games in Orem.
  21. That's quite an operation they have going on at the Great West Conference. And nice job to the conference on choosing Orem, Utah as the host. Apparently the attendance has been pretty embarrassing, even for UVU's first round games.
  22. 24 bench points for UND in first half! Smart and Buck are leading scorers. 30 of UND's 37 points scored by freshmen and sophomores.
  23. 23 UND 15 HBU 3:12
  24. 19 UND 13 HBU 7:47
  25. 14 UND 8 HBU 11:41 left in first half
