  1. Well, this one may be beyond even OUR control, but it would be nice to have officials who don't feel the need to call a foul EVERY time down the court. Those guys last night were brutal!
  2. On the bright side, the ball boys weren't shooting hoops during every stoppage of play last night!
  3. I'll re-phrase--if he wanted to join his brother in Brookings, perhaps he should have just walked on there and hoped to earn a scholarship instead of taking a scholarship from somebody else who UND could possibly have recruited last spring?
  4. If true--and at this point it looks as though it probably is--he could have done everybody involved a favor and signed with SDSU out of high school. I believe they offered him.
  5. UND has received a commitment from Millard West (Nebraska) defensive end Ross Brennemann. link
  6. Carlos Silva is worth $12 million a year? link
  7. He's still listed on the roster, but I don't know anything beyond that.

  9. I'm quite sure you are correct about that. On the minnesota preps board, Erik Lofdahl, who runs the site, stated again that Edem had a scholarship offer from Ohio U.
  10. Bakken blog: Thoughts? I think he's being a little harsh with the men's team. Mayville isn't a bad team, and they shot lights-out in the first half. I suspect Mayville is getting some players who are in NAIA not because of lack of talent, but due to the less stringent eligibility requirements. Playing/shooting like they did last night, I'm not sure anybody in the NCC or NSIC would have beaten them by 40. And regarding having to replace Little and Youmans, it won't be easy, but if I'm not mistaken, doesn't UND still recruit under dII rules at least through the end of the school year? If so, that would seem to make the possibility of signing a couple more juco studs easier than it will be in the future.
  11. Bakken blog: Thoughts? There's not much question that the shooting and the margins of victory aren't what we're used to seeing.
  12. A little recruiting info (from the St. Cloud Times):
  13. You can view a number of Tracy highlights from his junior year here.
  14. Roebuck was at the men's game last night, so I would expect he'll be back on the bench for Thursday's game.
  15. It is tacky, and I wish somebody would tell the ballboys not to do it anymore. It's funny, I was saying the exact same thing to my wife last night.
  16. With a probable recruiting budget of about $100, Mayville State again found two or three really good players in the off season. The Sioux had all they could handle tonight. Little and Youmans were both huge again. On an unrelated note, I saw Travis Mertens at the game. I believe he's been at two or three UND games so far this year.
  17. My comment was very much tongue-in-cheek. UND (reportedly) offered a full scholarship to Sutton, so clearly the coaches think very highly of him.
  18. I believe Sutton visited UND this past weekend. Since UND didn't get the ND Gatorade player of the year (Horner), it would be a nice "consolation" to get the Wisconsin Gatorade player of the year.
  19. I will be the first to admit that I'm not a great NDSU football mind. I was simply judging by the 2-deep depth chart for the SDSU game, as there were just two Texans on it, and both were backups. Maybe some of the other Texas kids were injured. In any event, they don't seem to be making a huge impact for whatever reason. When recruiting that far away, typically you would kind of think players would be expected to contribute pretty early.
  20. McNorton does have very good credentials. However, it seems as though NDSU has recruited a number of Texans the past few years, but most haven't seemed to pan out for whatever reason. It would seem that the odds of actually retaining a kid from Texas or Florida or California or wherever, with no previous connection to North Dakota and our climate, probably isn't the best.
  21. While I am concerned about Trenbeath's situation, he has at least one more year of eligibility regardless. Braegelmann, on the other hand, would presumably be done if his previously granted medical hardship doesn't transfer from dII to dI.
  22. Does anybody know for certain whether the medical hardships previously granted to Brady Trenbeath and Mitch Braegelmann are still valid in division I? I know the NCAA is far more stringent about granting such hardships at the dI level, but on the other hand, can they really take something back that's already been granted?
  23. UND and USD have reportedly offered full scholarships to Stevens Point (WI) running back Mitch Sutton. link
  24. Horner couldn't beat out Solum in high school. Apparently he didn't think there was any point potentially subjecting himself to the same thing in college. In all seriousness, I would have liked to have gotten him, but really never expected to.
