I've never seen as big of a bunch of losers pissing and moaning since the sports coverage of your football team last fall.

They don't have to worry about practicing out in the cold when you play in Frisco in January of course you wouldn't know anything about that
-
Ha it's the only way you guys will ever see a Championship caliber team in that tin shed
-
I like the last option. The Fighting Others.

Are you serious? You got the Blackhawks logo along with the Notre Dame logo. How is that unique?

This raises a different point and something I've talked to my dad about also. How many of us over 35ish crowd when we were kids on summer vacation would find things to do on our own "outside"? Hell we never sat in front of video games playing for hours on end. Kid nowadays do that constantly. Rather than going outside and riding bike, getting exercise, playing a game of baseball or basketball with our friends kids nowadays are slaves to the almighty video games. I have a nephew that is a perfect example. Kid would rather sit and play video games. I asked him what he wants to do when he grows up and he says be a video game programmer. Ugh! One last point and this came from an ex basketball coach with 20+ years of high school basketball coaching experience. Let me warn you right here if you like hockey you won't want to read this. His comments were that kids need to start playing sports at a young age. Saturday morning basketball leagues were common among grade schoolers back when I was in grade school. This coach said that many kids who would have and should have been basketball players (especially big tall kids) when they are young are trying to play hockey. By the time they get to high school and realize they are not going to be very good at it they quit and then decide they want to try Basketball or football. Problem is according to this retired coach is it's to late for them. While you can't coach or make a small kid big that same big kid who's never picked up a basketball or practiced (seriously practiced) is just another body on the court with little to no basketball skills. Maybe the US is a product of it's own success and families with little kids who can't just let their kids go out and play in the summer for safety concerns would rather spend a few hundred bucks and get a built in electronic babysitter also known as a Nintendo, WII or Playstation or a myriad of other brands and names. My parents didn't have to worry about letting me or my brothers go out during summer vacation. Can't do that anymore parents have to watch their kids like a hawk these days. Well anyway this post has gotten rather long but I do think there are way less kids these days who are interested in athletics and way to many who are zombies in front of a stupid video game!

Hey I said Merry Christmas last year to you guys. Unfortunately I never got one back but I tried. Oh and yes I still do hangout there also.

Glad I could help you out with the visit Oh and Merry Christmas to all of you even if you are fans of the wrong school! Or if you prefer Happy Hanukkah or fill in the the blank.... Happy ____________

Yeah right nice try. I don't think you would want to see the results of a NDSU UND football game this year or next or for that matter any time during over the last 7 years. The UND mens Basketball team will find out soon enough on Saturday. The reality is as much as some of your fans would like to think NDSU needs this game NDSU doesn't. You guys really needed it and still do to try to get und's football team back in the spotlight. Face it you are a hockey school first. Have been for the last 40 or so years and always will be. I'm going to enjoy seeing Montana, Montana State and EWU along with Davis and Poly wipe you guys off the field. You can compete with the Idaho's and the UNC's of the Big Sky.
-
You couldn't be more wrong. For those who want to beleive that Oh so many people want to see this happen there are Oh so many who are glad it's not happening and also glad you are not in the same conference as NDSU. Good lord people move on you are in the BSC. Be happy with that and stop obsessing over NDSU. Besides this thread title is about just that isn't it? I think you will be glad you have the flexibility in scheduling now rather than being locked into a yearly affair with one school. I'm sure your AD will be to.

Hi guys, No dog in this fight and not wanting to pour salt here on obviously open wounds. But one thing I've found about these Summit schools and basketball. I'd put Kampe and Oakland up against any Big Sky team and if you guys had an opportunity you'd be damned impressed. Maybe you don't like the letters but if you are a fan of good basketball you'd have nothing to complain about. Either way good luck with travel it will be an issue for more fans than not. Hi to Shawn O

Congratulations on finding a conference home.

That has to be one of the funnier things I've read in a long time. Thanks Blackheart that reply is deserving of a beer for you on the house. Good stuff.

I worked with the man for over 6 years. I golf with him and ride motorcycle with him. He had no problem talking to me about it. I know my source and freely admit it. I said I'd introduce him to Scoop I didn't say he'd sit and discuss private matters with him. He did with me when I asked him and I can prove it. I have more to offer here by way of proof than some who likes to throw !@#$ and see how much might stick. What have you got to add to this? Nothing just as I thought.

This thread is titled "More Bison in trouble" and the two players who were suspended by Bohl are the same players who's names came out today. AFter the story hit the media and it was well known who Bohl already identified and kicked off the team YOU made comments regarding there being more to the story. Insinuations that "More Bison players" were going to be exposed. You continue to make assinine statements isninuating more Bison players were involved yet you and only you seem to have this story. No other media has mentioned players being allowed to return items to the store. By the way for your information I happen to be friends with the Store manager of Best Buy in Fargo. I talked to Kent and asked him in person about the story. He said others were involved but nothing about NDSU players or anyone being allowed to return items to the store. If you want to meet me over at Best Buy there Scoop I'll introduce you to Kent and we can discuss this then. Otherwise you can continue on all you want about your allegations it only makes you look stupid.

You just can't admit to being wrong on this can you? You make some mighty big assumptions that incriminate players without providing proof. I'll believe what I read in the paper before I believe some obscure poster on a message board who likes to throw out accusations that are unfounded. You really missed your calling. You should have been a reporter you seem to have the scoop on all other media on this story.
-
Ok now that there is more information regarding the story FROM THE FARGO FORUM
-
I question anyones intelligence when they make comments that cannot be backed up by sources that can be checked. My comments were directed at two people on this board not the entire UND fanbase.
-
How did my arguement go beyond anything. How did I argue for "protection of the program"? You provided no proof other than your unnamed sources. Like I said if I had a dollar for everytime someone quoted unnamed sources on a message board and ended up being wrong I'd be a rich man. Also there is such a thing as due process. Also Ster2idiot you still haven't provided anylink to any news source stating the Fargo PD was at any Bison Football practices. For that matter of the 11 people named in the article 8 or 9 of them have nothing to do with the football program. That doesn't exonerate those players listed that are in the program. Football player or not it's inexcusable behavior. I'm not protecting anyone just using common sense that says people are allowed due process. If found guilty they will suffer the penalties as they should. For those who want to cast stones your turn is coming as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow. If you think you will never see another student athlete get in trouble up at UND you are dumber than I thought.
-
Are you sure he's the one with the lack of understanding on this issue?
-
Thanks for not jumping down my throat because I didn't agree with you at first. I see where you are coming from but as you point out you just sort of contradicted yourself. You say at the end of this post you do think we can sustain it. I think no matter when it is during the transition or how long after raising funds takes the right kind of people to do it. I also think there are so many things outside of any schools control ie. the economy where those factors play a huge role. But given how NDSU has generated the funds all the while during a less than stellar last couple of years in football and with a bad economy I'm not worried about NDSU's long term sustainability at the DI level. I think the room for growth for NDSU is huge. It doesn't hurt that the FM area has weathered the downturn in the economy as it has. I just don't see the excitement level drop you reference being a problem either. Until UND finds a better conference home though I can see that being a problem for UND. I think the numbers in the stands at football and Basketball bear that out.
