Maybe if it looks like they may need them to make the playoffs midway through the season, it will be determined that they have paid their debt to the team and will be reinstated. Oh wait, that is what Hakstol does, not Bohl.

My point was score comparisions are pointless. It was a good win but saying they are better than the Bison because of it is wrong. Until they play, we won't know who is the better team. I'm sure that will be soon. By the way, your first D1 win was last year @UMKC wasn't it?

Wow, I guess its a good thing Coach McDermott didn't put the Sioux on the schedule this year. If the Sioux are 13 points better than the Bison and Iowa State onlt beat the Bison by 2, that means UND would have beaten Iowa State by double digits. Oh wait, they did play, and Iowa State won by 30. Oops, my bad. Nice win tonight though. Miles alway said UVSU hired their own refs and they were employees of the school.

I don't think Chicago State is realistic. Maybe NJIT and St. Olaf. I was afraid the Bison may be that bad this year, but they have surprised me. They have their last chance for an embarrassing loss tomorrow(Dickinson State). I'll be glad when thats over. Those games always scare me.

I really did expect the Sioux women to be better than the Bison right out of the gate. But I think both Ruley and Roebuck really didn't think there was much difference between the top level Division 2 teams and athletes and a top 50 Division 1 team and athlete. I think they were both proven wrong. Dehoff came from a Division 1 background (both as a player and assistant coach) and is getting better athletes to come in and is IMO close to turning around the program. Maybe either Roebuck needs to step down or get some assistants that know what a Division 1 player looks like. I don't know anything about the other players the Sioux signed early, but I have seen Fargo South's Burck play and I'm not sure she is a good Division 1 prospect. I'm not trying to start anything, I just think maybe both Roebuck and Ruley were in Division 2 too long adjust to the Division 1 game. The Bison were just as bad(if not worse) their first couple of years in D1.

Not sure about Boise State, but I'm not sure Loyola-Marymount won a game last year. I'm sure they were in the 300's in RPI.

The quarterback that signed with NDSU commented on how he liked the NDSU coaches honesty with him. They told him he wasn't their first choice and kept him informed where he stood during the whole recruiting process. Sounds like honesty to me. Apparently it is UND's coaches policy to offer recruits and tell them how they want them to come to UND until they actually accept the offer and the coaches realize maybe they don't want them or they are over extended and have no scholies left. Perhaps an honest coaching staff would call a recruit and let them know the offer has been pulled BEFORE they accept it. By the way, how many incoming recruits are expecting that trip to Hawaii? I heard that was a pretty major selling point for the Sioux coaches. Has the contract been signed yet?

I'm not saying Sioux fans will, but the first three UND posters on this thread seemed to agree that NDSU fans would be hammering on this if it were a UND player. I just don't think that would be the case.
-
I don't remember a lot of piling on by Bison fans about the recent arrests of UND players. Maybe I missed it. I don't believe Mr. Jackson will be back with the team next year. I'm not sure you can compare a possession of marajuana charge with aggregative assault charges, but go ahead and have fun with it.

They won't start out alternating sites from the start. At least the first two games will be played in Fargo or they won't be played at all. That is unless UND gets into the MVFC, which I don't see happening anytime soon.
-
Actually, they call that price gouging. I certainly hope NDSU doesn't doulble the ticket price when the game does resume. Also, Very classy bragging about a player breaking another players leg. You were probably upset he was able to walk again.
-
Speaking of talking through the media, I don't know how many times I have heard Faison on TV or on the radio saying UND is ready to resume the rivalry immediately, yet he has not picked up the phone and called Gene Taylor. How does he suppose the games are going to get scheduled? Are Wayne Nelson and Jeff Kolpack going to negoiate a contract for the schools? As of last week, Gene Taylor said he hadn't spoken to Mr. Faison yet. Apparently UND isn't all that anxious to schedule the game either.
-
What about a first year coach like Mussman after the Southern lllinois game? He pretty much blamed the loss on a personal foul call in the first half. Is this going to become a pattern in all Sioux losses?
-
I didn't think there was a difference between the top of Div 2 and the bottom of the Top 25 in 1AA? I'm not sure about this, but I think that was the 1st conference win for Southern Utah since the Great West was formed.
-
Do you people really think the NDSU Administration would announce a sellout 3 weeks before the game if there were actually tickets left to sell? You people are the real idiots if you think that. There will always be some people that have tickets that can't make it, and the only place there were many empty blue seats were up in the SIU section. And yes, NDSU should have won that game by 17-24 points if we had a kicker. NDSU had to punt once the entire game. They were stopping themselves. I say they lose @ UNI and beat both Missouri State and Illinois State on the road in the MVFC. They will beat WIU at home next week by 24.

Perhaps Mississippi State wasn't trying too hard to rack up the yardage when they were ahead 34 to 3 in the 3rd quater. Meanwhile, the Sioux were playing catch up and got a lot of their yardage in the end of the 3rd and the 4th quarter. Freund is probably the best QB in ND, but I hear the SDSU guy is pretty good. I haven't seen enough of either to make that statement, but apparently UND92/96 has.
-
Someone needs to tell ESPN the proper name of the school. I was watching one of the ESPN's saturday night and they had the UND score as St. Cloud 17 Grand Forks 31. Did anyone else see that? I meant to watch to see if they corrected it the next time it scrolled through, but I didn't see the score again.
-
Because they are 2 FBS games they should win.
-
He can't. But I'll bet you could find some comments from Sioux fans excited about a 2 year contract to play 1-11 Idaho. If I remember properly, Central Michigan played Purdue in a bowl last year and were ahead or tied with a couple of minutes left in the game.
-
If they are, I would be surprised if they were not at least a 2 for 1 deal. I don't think any of those would be a home and home,
-
Lets not declare Mr. Sorenson the fastest athlete in FCS football yet. In the 3 events he swept at the state meet, he would have finished 2nd, 5th and 6th in ND Class A.
-
UND should have learned from NDSU and held back a couple of scholarships. If all 7 stay for 5 years, that leaves 6 scholarships available over the next 4 years. I think NDSU would have liked to have more than 3 available over the last 2 years.
-
They averaged over 18,000 last year in a building that seats 18,900. I don't think that equates to a huge increase in gate receipts. The last time I checked, NDSU doesn't double the price for certain games like a school to the north does. There is NOT an outcry from Bison fans to renew the rivalry.
-
You may get the better home game, but you can forget about the FBS game for the first three years. FBS schools are looking for 6 wins against bowl counters. UND is not a bowl counter until at least the third season of the transition.
