I'm sure it's coincidence. He got hurt and left part way through the game. I highly doubt he would fake an injury during a game just to get an extra couple days off. If it was a mysterious injury during practice I might think otherwise.

Also, overlooked on the Boeser goal was that Schmaltz stayed aware of the play when it broke apart just outside the blue line. Schmaltz quickly held up while Boeser was gaining possession and crossing the blue line so he didn't go offside.

I think they're trying to get the pretty goal. They need to give that up now and go for the garbage goal to get one on the board.

Never noticed that before. I know the DECC was that way, too, and I never understood why they would do that. It gives a massive unfair advantage to the home team.
